Is there a coolant diagram that shows all the hoses and where they all go into the carbs/engine and radiator etc most are straight forward but some of them are awkward to locate  As I have the engine out and want to make sure I reconnect them correctly

Do you mean k&n pod filters for each carb or just  replacing original filter with a k&n one?
yes the pod filters

Anyone fitted k & ns  on a fz1 2003 ? is it straight forward and do you have to re jet on standard pipes etc or is it more complicated than that ?

There isn't one.
To drain the coolant you need to remove the radiator cap and open the drain bolt which is on the coolant pipe next to the oil filter.
thanks for that ,that's prob I couldn't find one? but Haynes manual says on bottom of sump? in routine maintenance 1.16    pic 16.4? have I got my models mixed up I have the 2003 fazer
ok have that thanks

As winters fast approaching im wanting to tackle a few jobs while bike will be garaged for a few months and im wanting to do a way with the  bulky no plate mountings and im wondering what other members have done as the undertray and no plate looks like one moulded piece? is there a mod you can get to achieve this? or what way would you go about this.As i dont really want to start cutting the original undertray and fuck the job totally. oh and its a gen 1

any tips on what to use when cutting it
I have cut all my screens, when I bought the bike it had a huge screen,i chopped 4" off the top of that, then I bought a dark shorter one and chopped that too, looks a lot better with a low screen,,still protection if its raining,,duck down and run,,

yes it all depends on your build /height/ width ive heard the double bubble arent great ,thats what it sounds like you have ,if u search through the search bar up at the top of the page you will find photos recommendations and all sorts of experiances with different screens i think mine is a puig or a mivv cant remember its so long since i fawned over my bike but hopefully ill have it back soon to enjoy whats left of the summer ,might even take a blast up your way someday ting
  welcome anytime your passing

General / fairing screens
« on: 16 June 2015, 07:09:54 pm »
After just purchasing my fzs1000 its now time to enjoy it ,but ive noticed there is a lot of wind being generated off the fairing ,and it all seems to end up at my helmet, its not a standard screen as it is blue and has a like bubble in the centre and even on a short journey the top of my back just below my neck is sore, so i was wondering what type of screen to get which doesnt generate as much buffeting, has anyone else suffered the same?, and what type of screen did you fit . not sure what standard screen is like as ive never had one before

23
my fazer came with the r6 shock attached,so does that mean i will have the right one fitted as the others cannot be mod to fit ? is there a part no on the shock?
