Better road positioning going into the bend he would have seen it opening up rather than being tight and panicking.  But hey, I'm just watching a video, easy to say from here.  Lucky to walk away, from a fairly innocuous overtake.

If I am going to have a look at a bike I would always take the asking price in cash, my license and insurance cover letter.  I would not feel upset being asked for cash before having a test ride.  So do those things and you will be fine.  Another thing I have always done is to have the bike outside on the day they are due to come and have a look.  This way anyone having a look cannot see the bike where it is usually kept and assess security etc.  This gives some protection against people looking the bike over to come back and nick it later.

I had some of those temporary traffic lights on my way to work last week.  Both sets of traffic were separated by about 300 metres and a bend so you could not see the other set of lights.  I was filtering up to the front when the lights went green, so I slotted in about 5 cars from the front.  4 cars coming the other way had jumped the red light and were forced onto the verge by the queue of traffic I was in.  They had to sit there whilst we all drove past shaking our heads, horn tooting and wanker signs.  Made me laugh.

He waved his hand at you and avoided eye contact.  That makes it OK.

This is a quote Boris should have made, " I won't shed one single tear over his death.  He tried to destroy the London Underground and commerce in London, and as far as I'm concerned he can rot in hell"  Boris commenting on Bob Crow's death.  I'm pretty sure that is what he would be thinking!

US Government conspiracy.  There will be a Discovery program on it soon enough.

A nice bike ride home, only 4 miles, but still fun enough.  Commuting gets the cobwebs off without any effort, then I'm all set for a longer run when the chance arises.

Ah HA, A fine selection of ice creams, and always some bikes there.  We holiday in Ulverston every year.

The A5087 from Ulverston to Barrow-in-furness, also known as the coast road is another favourite of mine.
Stop 1/2 way for an ice cream or brew at Roys ices. A lifetime biker himself and your all welcome!

[Free plug alert!!! He's my dad :D ]

Is he the ice cream van at the Bardsea beach front?

I have used the Motrax ones, same really.  Wife used them when she first started going on the back and felt safe with them.  Eventually stopped using them when she got more confident.

Head over to Kirby Lonsdale and on to Settle down the A65.  Head into Settle and pick up the B6479.  Follow that until T junction with B6255 at the Ribbleshead Viaduct.  Follow B6255 into Hawes.  This stretch is my all time favorite, quite, open and good surface and a jump!  Good food in Hawes.  Then back into Sedburgh and from there back to Kirby Lonsdale.  A nice 1 1/2 hours without a stop, but plenty of brew / food stops available.

Cover every hole or awkward corner before undoing an screws, if you drop any of them they WILL drop down there.

Make sure the old oil filter O ring is off before fitting new filter, unless you want to cover the bike and driveway with oil when you fire her up.

You can do it all yourself.  You need to get probate stuff sorted still so that it can be proved you are the beneficiary in the will.  Very easy, just fill in form and turn up at the probate office and sign more forms.  Definitely can do it all yourself.

I have the Rev'it Outback Jacket, so a cheaper, none gore tex version.  I find it very comfortable and has not leaked yet, seems strong and good quality.  Several layers, so can be used on a variety of weathers.  for the money I'm happy.  I paid £150, 6 months ago, so that seems a great deal.  I would go for it.

I thought they were closing the offices and putting some of those people in the stations to assist on the shop floor?  Can't see a problem with just using ticket machines.  And if there is a handy high vis clad "travel coordinator manager executive assistant" somewhere to help when I have spent 10 minutes trying to shove my fiver into the credit card slot then that is a bonus.
I've been through London only a handful of times, so not enough to get familiar with the underground system, but I've never had to use a manned ticket counter, or felt the need to, so a big fuss about nothing in my view.  I would have more sympathy if they were just striking about the loss of jobs, but grinding London to a halt because some ticket offices are getting shut, seems OTT to me.

Slightly hot into the corner and then target fixation on the truck is my view.  There may be some surface roughness on the road, but he looked well into panic mode by then.

I like Top Gear, and I like the 3 of them messing around.  I thought Sundays episode spent too long on the hot hatch.  I didn't think it was one of their best.  Hopefully plenty of supercars next week.

I don't think so.  I thought it was still up to the driver in the side road to then proceed only if safe to do so.

I know a police driver and he said just never let anyone out of a side road, especially if they are crossing your lane to get to another, as any accident will come back on you.

possibly a blockage?  Some crud in the coolant system broke off and blocked an engine passage.  No cool water in, but heat still coming out?

Or on oil passage blockage leading to seizure?
