Lights/dash advice req
« on: 16 October 2016, 02:53:07 pm »
Hi all.

Got my fazer 3 weeks ago and I have noticed that more often than not if I use the pass button or turn the dip beam on or use the pass with the lights on the dash will trip out and come back again. Doesn't effect the running of the engine. Found dead today that if I held the pass button the dash stayed blacked out while the button was held. Again didn't effect running. I've removed the nose, pulled all the plugs under the tank, cleaned a few of them, cleaned the left hand switch gear but it is still doing it. Could it be a sticky relay? If so where is the light relay located? Could try feel one working when I operated the lights.

Any advice please?

Sounds more like a dodgy earth to me.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

If it is the FZS1000 look for corrosion in the connector blocks under the left infill panel. Relays are near the clocks, remove the screen to check them.

Wondered if the ones behind the clocks were for the light. Had both infill panels off and all of them under the tank. Will give the ones behind the clocks another look when I get 5 mins
