Mobile contract finishes soon and I've been looking to see what to go for next....Does anyone have either of the above or have any views on the pro's and con's?
Cheers

I've owned both the S1 and the S2 and I've loved both of them. The ONLY reason I don't have an S3 right at this moment is because there's waaay too long left on my contract. I'm currently trying to convince the other half to get an S3 when she renews her contract and give it to me......

I have a One X and prefer it over the S3 on looks alone. But just for bragging rites the one x is faster.. we ran a few benchmark apps and my one x came out on top.
However the One X+ comes out soon with even more power so wait for that if you can.

Go for the Samsung. TouchWiz is a lot nicer than HTC Sense in my opinion.
Of course, you could be a man and get the Galaxy nexus. All about the Google experience, yo.

That Galaxy looks a good phone, but after considering all tha factors I have just ordered a new I Phone 5, hope I dont regret it. I do like the the Apple, I have had both the 3g and 4. The last 4 has been a bit fragile and I have broken the back once and the screen twice. Got a rubber cover on the last one and that seems to do the job.

I'm sure that the IPhone and all of Apple's products are very good BUT I don't like the way Apple do things. So good luck with your new phone but I'll be sticking with android.

IPhone 5 is a sore subject with me.. We have some exec's at work and we had to set some up for them. We had 10 in all. 1 was DOA and 3 of them run REALLY hot. 1 was almost too hot to touch and all he was doing was checking emails lol
If his wasn’t bad enough we had to run an update on our mail system to get them to work.. Even though Apple told us we didn’t have to.
It’s funny my whole team at work are on android phones. Apart from 1 bloke who has an iPhone 3Gs and plans to get an android soon.
I think being a team of geeks we don’t like the limited (locked down) nature of apple products.

I thought I read in Tech Rader that they tested th S3 against the One x side by side doing the same stuff and the S3 came out on top. I think they're both as good as each other, it's just preferences. I'm using HTC Wildfire at the mo but don't like it. S3 for me next month methinks.

I've read loads of reviews
. At the moment I have the HTC Desire HD and am happy with it and get on well with HTC sense but the Samsung UI is an unknown
At the moment the only thing I can chose between them is the Samsung has longer battery life. My wife is due an upgrade now and mine is in a few weeks so I may see what she chooses and then I'll tell her it's rubbish
and get the opposite one

I'm about to upgrade my HTC Desire to a Galaxy S2 - can't see the S3 is worth the extra cash - a bit like iPhone 5 over 4 really.

Been going through a similar dilemma myself. Not used either, or even the older versions, but all the reviews I read, reckons the build quality of the HTC One X (and One S) is much better than the Samsung offerings. Stronger, better quality cases and so forth. Anyone else found this to be true?
Currently tossing up between the One S and One X. Anyone find the One X too big for pocket or too battery hungry? Screen looks so much better though...

I've got the iPhone, but if I had to change for some reason, I would go with the Samsung. They're a great company and are leading the way in many areas of the electronics market. The thing that impresses me the most is their high level of innovation. I have a couple of Samsung products at home and recently bought a Samsung washing machine which is riddled with smart technology and USEFUL features.
Trouble is, I believe they have been sued for $1bn by Apple, so the S3 has a bit of a dark cloud over it. Nevertheless, it looks like a cracking phone. As for the HTC, I have no experience of them, but a colleague just told me that "they're shit" LOL.

Currently have the desire and contract ends in Jan. Looking at galaxy as while I like the desire, it does seem to have a mind of its own. Thanks to insurance and warranty I'm on my 4th in 6 months, after the original met with an unfortunate beer incident. All of them have had the same quirk of switching off occasionally or restarting randomly, certain. types of crash or a couple other minor issues. Not all the time mind, but enough to make me try a different phone. Not touching the piephone.
The s3 looks awrite, but I was also looking at the Note hybrid. Not a tab and a bit bigger than a fone. This would be great for work if I could scribble notes onto it (stylus with it) but I feel it might he too big for social aspects, cos I put my phone in my back pocket when outside of work, and its just a bit too big, and I hate these folk who talk to themselves in the street and think they're hip and futurostical.
Will need to start scouring reviews soon tho cos I might try and chop it in early cos the desire is just boring now.

It does surprise me how blinkered people are these days. The truth of the matter is that if you have owned a smart phone in the last 10 years there is a good chance it has some HTC technology in it.
They started off making parts for other phone companies and then moved into phones themselves.
As a quick example the o2 XDA range and the Orange SPV were made by HTC as was the original Google phone the Nexus One..
As I said before I would wait for the one X+ because it has a more powerful cpu and will come with jellybean from the off.
Just a note on battery life on the one X, I charge mine every night but it will just about last 2 days. But as all phones this depends on your personal usage.
I had a HTC desire before the one X and had no problems with it. I also found upgrading it to the official 2.3.3 rom from HTC developer site improved it as well.

My Galaxy Nexus has had JellyBean on it for two months now...
HTC's hardware isn't the problem (Although I take issue with the build-quality of their sliding keyboard units), it's the Sense UI I dislike. I also dislike TouchWiz, but it's easier to put stock android on Samsung devices.

Have you considered the Motorola Droid Razer Maxx HD?
I'm not trolling, I've been looking to move into the 21st century recently and am tempted by the long battery life and good reviews.
