Try not to laugh. Bikes had one headlamp last time I owned one!! On dipped beam does only one light come on? Both light up on high beam.
-
Both should be on, start it up and then just walk round to front and have a look :)

Or just maybe one filament of the bulb has blown :eek NOooooo! are you taking the piss tommy? :lol
-
I just assumed both dipped lights would come on :o , same as FZ1s, why Yamaha have not done that is beyond me.
-
Thanks but I'm still confused! :lol
-
If you are talking about a fazer 8, only one headlamp comes on with normal dipped. Both are on with full beam.
-
Andy, many thanks. I should have mentioned it was a Fazer 8. Ken

Why the F--k did Yamaha go back to the stone age? And go back to that one front light whilst dipped beam is on.
Madness it goes back to the Boxeye days that everyone complains about and the s--t lights on them, Yamaha repaired that with the Foxeye, and the congregation said 'Amen'
The Twats at Yamaha seem to have gone backwards, must be able to convert that as so many did with the Boxeye.
Oh! PS: Kent not a stupid question at all mate :thumbup

Certainly makes no sense to me. Also, I assume it means if you carry spare bulbs you need to carry two types just for the front end? No big deal I suppose.

They didn't, well not recently anyway.
For many years now all bikes have had this set up out of the factory. May riders re-wire them though so both headlights come on.
the reason is an EU bollox thing about the bulbs being in separate lenses so need to be a single light only so you don't get confused with a car far away rather than a motorbike up close.

Just carry the one spare bulb that does the dipped beam. You can always ride on dipped but not on main.
