Haven't updated this for a while. Stainless downpipes have since been fitted, carb rubbers replaced and MOT passed this morning :)

Having got some spare time today, i've set about having a fettle with the bike. First up, I've swapped out all the engine bolts with new stainless replacements:

Looks much better imo, next plan, swap rocker cover over for a 'cleaner' unit :)

Rocker cover replaced and also fitted new front indicators to match the rear:

Spot the difference:

New front indicators:

And how he stood after a couple of hours:

(ignore the black mark on the down pipe, exhaust is ever so slightly blowing fron the head, pushed a hot down pipe in with a microfiber.... end result is melted microfiber. All gone now though)

Next job is to re seat the downpipes and fit new gaskets again and sort the brakes; new pads, braided lines and fluid.

My next job was supposed to be brakes.... then I had an interesting packing from noggy

Inside it were Renthals, Bar Ends and some elusive coolant hoses. Yesterday I set about doing the pipes

Anyway, you get the hint. It was all going so well until literally the final part. Putting the coolant plug back in:

Which as you can see, took it upon itself to snap. At this point, I said a few swearies, down'ed tools and called it a day. I was miffed  :'(

So Today came, feeling fresh and ready to go:

TADA!! Got it out! So, phoned 3 local Yammy dealers and nothing, they don't keep spares and would be a 2 week wait. Cue me going through the dad's shed looking for bolts that 'might just do it'

And after a bit of jigery pokey with a dremal:

And this is how he stood earlier. Haven't had chance to fit the bars as the car is going for it's MOT in a sec (wish me luck!)

Thunderpants....your bike rocks :guitar :guitar :guitar

Im quute impressed with those hoses, it's a shame that a few of them arent visible allot of the time and the bike needs a few more blue touches.....if i'm honest i went overboard with the blue levers but the blue bar ends will add a spot to the upper right portion, then theres the blue spots for lower right, the hoses for the centre.

But i really do think a splash of blue on the lower left portion would complete without going ott.......& what better way than with a blue spot thou caliper 8) 8) 8) ......i dont have one.....but it wiuld look the biz.

& i also think you should paint the plastic frame plugs the same Blue.....woola 8) .

& the upgraded rear grab rail would modernise things.......ooooh i have one of those for sale ;)

& i might have another small addition you could be interested in....nowt special but ill show you tomorrow.

And what else?......these 2 luxurious and fresh looking side panels.........complete with decadent yamaha tuning fork dome stickers.......& pro bolt allen bolts.....woooooooooooooohhhhhhhh 8) 8) 8) .........£5 each side bargain.

Plus postage whatever that comes to.

So, the winter has come and gone and today I thought I'd start giving the bike some love. Bought a set of HEL lines and new pads to go on and decided to have a bash at fitting them. Me and my trusty haynes manual were good to go.

Safe to say, things didn't go well. Set about doing the rear brake first. Now I should mention the rear brake has always been 'questionable' and to get it through the MOT a fair old amount of force had to be applied (imagine an 18st guy bouncing on the pedal). I'm no mechanical expert but I know when something is focced.

Pretty sure theres meant to be a rubber seal somewhere and that the pistons are meant to move with a bit of a push? Alas, there is neither. Well, theres bits of a seal...

So, focced?

Does the rear caliber from the TRX-850 fit without modifications?

You have to replace the caliper hanger too. But other than that its a bolt off bolt on job.

You do know that those two thin hoses to the left of your oil filler cap don't belong there don't you ?

I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
