Sorry to be pedantic, I guess someone had to  :b

If you really want to visit a Whiskey distillery you will need to come to this side of the Irish Sea. Bushmills has a fine tour if you ever find yourself on the North Antrim coast! Oldest distillery in the world I think, stand to be corrected tho.

I'm sure you will find many fine Whisky distilleries in Scotland, none make Whiskey tho!

Sounds like you are going have a great adventure! Enjoy m8  :D  :D  :D

Consider stopping distances.

If the car behind is too close... Make some space for yourself

Allow space for you, and the vehicle behind to stop!

So pleased that the late great Joey Dunlop was honoured.

That one will be the fastest but most laid back pup in history!

Looks very good m8!

Given the summer we are having, do they do an Aquadynamics too? Might be more fitting!

Great that you got sorted m8!

I use Frank Thomas Dry Viz coat, RST textile trousers. Both have removable linings. Great for all year use.Sartso Kevlar lined jeans on good days. Alpinestars boots.

Got a pair of RST gloves that are quite heavy and great for winter, but uncomfortable in hot weather and a pair of Dianese summer gloves.

It is amazing how much more comfortable a pair of light gloves  can make you on a warm day!

If there was one "double up" item for summer/winter... go gloves

The motorcycle jack looks interesting, might well be useful for cleaning and polishing. May well look into that in the future.

However in these tough economic times I think Tiberius has the answer. Will the oil really spread around the entire chain?

I really hope so!

So, not having a centre stand, involves moving the bike back, oil, move back.... Repeat.

Is there an easier way?

You were not on your way home from work!

No one will know you were on your way home from work unless you tell anyone, so I repeat:

Glad you not too badly hurt m8, whole thing sucks tho!

Got a Frank Thomas Dri Viz jacket I wear all year round, taking the lining out in summer. Loads of zipped vents really get some air in. Sartso kevlar lined jeans on a good day.

Best things I have bought tho are a pair of light summer gloves. Dianese, short cuffs. Air goes through them if you kinda spread your fingers. Short cuffs allow air up your sleeve too. Recommended!

So, when you pass a group of bikers, what is the official nod arrangement? One nod per biker? One or two long nods? One nod for each tightly grouped bunch?

And what is your nod style? How do you rate other nodders?

Up and down? Almost a bow.

Side to side, more like a wink.

Diagonally? Probably the coolest in my opinion. Not that that counts for anything!

I have also had wavers, and one flasher! That was in very poor visibility tho.

I once seen a couple of camper vans acknowledge each other and have wondered if this was a ritual for them too, or did they just know each other?

Who knew this was such a big subject?..  :eek

When I've been riding a lot and then get in the car I still find myself nodding to riders - can't seem to help it.

Laughed at that one m8, been there too  :lol

General / Re: What Fazer did you spot today?
« on: 22 May 2012, 05:48:00 pm »
Not today, last week. I was in the cage when a Fazer passed me. Got a quick look and it was done in the old FS1E colours!

You remember the top of the tank was yellow and the bottom black squares with white borders?

Only caught a glimpse but it looked great and took me back to being a 16 year old dreaming of getting a 'Fizzie' and having wet dreams about owning an Audi Quattro.

Sadly I never had the Fizzie or the Quattro, however...  :o  :o  :o

« on: 17 May 2012, 09:05:27 pm »
Hi, so I left the Fazer in for a service (gonna be a sore one). Two tyres, chain and sprockets and front pads at least :(

They offered me a Deauville or a Honda PCX. I wanted the smallest one so took the PCX. Nice little bike I gotta say. Got that engine cut out at traffic lights thing too, economical.

Anyway, leaving my local town in a 30 zone past the local high school and sitting around 30-35 two cars passed me.

Now I do tend to stick quite close speed limits in the 30, 40 and 50 zones even on the Fazer but that is the first time I have been passed here. Is it because I was riding a scooter?

NW 200 is coming up in a few weeks. One of the best race meets on the calendar.

Any of you guys coming over for that?

Any of you plan to ride the North Antrim Coast road?

If so... I hope you enjoy our hospitality! And have a great visit to our little country!

Hi all,

Just rode the Antrim Coast road on my FZ6 S2. As usual a stunning ride. Prob close to 200 miles, and I am sore. Suffer from tennis elbow, so elbows and forearms are painful, as well as butt, lower back and thighs. (guess I'm getting old

Brilliant! Never thought of it like that! Can't afford petrol anymore, therefore won't contribute to any fuel rush  :)

Is there going to be a fuel strike? I just heard that David Cameron has advised people to fill their tanks. Does he not know that, thanks to his and previous governments taxes, we can't feckin afford to shell out a hundred quid  to fill our tanks???

Can highly recommend Muc-Off bike cleaner.

Such an easy way to keep your bike clean. At least if ppl don't look too close!

Thanks guys, put my mind at rest.

Making sure she is properly warmed seems to be the top tip and I shall certainly be taking that on board.

Hi, I don't tend to push my fazer too hard, but sometimes like to get the revs up. Just for fun.

I wondered if it does the bike any harm to operate at high revs?

Thanks in advance for any tips. :)
