90 years since sir malcolm campbell set a new land speed record of 150.76 mph on pendine sands.the national motor museum, beaulieu, are recreating the event with a low speed pass, on pendine sands where the record was set.......couldn't miss this so booked the day off work and going to enjoy some of the welsh roads and whitness an event that may well never be repeated, well not for another 10 years anyway  :lol

event takes place at 4 pm, iam making a full day of it , leaving high wycombe, bucks early morning, anyone want to join me ?

shame we have'nt got a foccer who lives local to the sands that could have given us the heads up    :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes

Yeh i've been meaning to go from mine to Carew-Amroth-Pendine.......ive been to Laugharne in the car, it's a pretty little place...then of course there is Pembrey which i havent seen any racing at but is generally a nice place for a short break in a caravan with the mountain bikes type affair.....there's allot of roads down there i havent explored yet...it's just that my bike isnt the best for that type of "exploring" and so i go North to the big, smoothe twisties.........but when i get a new bike for next year ill be getting something a bit more versatile because there's allot of places i want to see still.

Paul, you have another PM.

So anyone else interested in this trip, you will need a superfast Silver Gen1 though if you want to keep up......................................................steps backs and waits for the flames

I'm planing to stay overnight in West Wales (location TBE) and take a leisurely trip back Wednesday, think Paul is going to blast back Tuesday night

I'll be able to make this too now.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

I don't mind either way. I guess you guys will be coming down the M4. I'm about 10 minutes away from J33. Let me know what your plans are and maybe we can meet en route.

Grayo, we could drop down through the Brecons and meet somewhere on the head of the valley road, around Pendryn. I need to re-stock my single malt collection :D  or my ancestrial homeland Tonypandy

Ok, I'm in. I might pack the tent to spend a couple of extra days down there too.  Paul, if you're doing the A40, I could meet you at the Burford roundabout. If you take a left here, just a short way along, a few yards, there's a layby, often a butty wagon there. Meet you there?
