If we're doing the whole camping thing (subject to getting a dry tent)  would the lake district be a viable destination?

Well initially i thought maybe stay Friday  or meet at mine on Saturday, leave heading north at 9.00am ,,100 miles or so to Fizzy,,be there for lunchtime,, then ride with him for five or six hours and then ride back to mine by 9.00pm.

Stay saturday night at mine or shoot on home.

Or

Are you thinking ride further North up to the Lake district ,,180 miles from mine on Saturday ,have a mooch about ,then camp there for the night and ride back Sunday?

I'm just shooting ideas, increasing options for future events.  Just seems to me, time permitting the lakes would make for a competitive variable to Wales.  Bring the British foccers together. :)

Lakes for the Lofo's would have to be an extended weekend in reality though.

Ok, 5 Passes Ride: Kirkstone, Hard Knott, Wrynose, Honister and Whinlatter. About 250 miles all told, not a hooning trip, more technical, steep, fabulous scenery, cafes at Kirkstone and Honister passes. Somebody on another forum just did it for a day out, so perfectly feasible. So now I have to do it!  :D

Camping at least one night (might do 3 myself, then head for Snowdonia for a couple more).

Latter half of July.

Any takers?
Southerners head to slimwilly's for overnight camping (Friday night? Or go with V's dates?) and head up to Lakes on Saturday. 5 passes on Sunday. Or something like that...

Hmmm, yeah, come on V, that doesn't tally, 16th to 18th July = Weds, Thurs, Fri. Clarify?  :)
