Use etch primer on aluminium as well - helps the paint stay on better.

Check the pitch of the thread though - some Japanese M10 are a finer pitch than standard M10 coarse.

Not holding the setting when the ignition was switched off. it was the red/green permanent live to the clocks that had parted company where it is spliced in.

There is a fuse for the live feed. If it hasn't blown then there is a section of the wiring loom on the LHS of the frame that is wrapped in a plastic sleeve with a self adhesive seam down the side which could be your problem.

This sleeve has several spliced joints in the cables inside it, and on my bike water had got inside the sleeve and the splice in the live feed to the clocks had corroded through. I cleaned the wires and soldered the joint back together.

I bought the M&P ones - exactly the same brand as the originals (Ars), same part numbers on them too.

At £70 a set for pattern parts, it's well worth trying the black or clear silicone.

I bought a set of these a few weeks ago from M&P and they are exactly the same brand (Ars) as the originals.

I bought one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01B5RRYP0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to look inside my fuel tank for rust. The picture is good quality, and I have just checked - its fits down a Fazer spark plug hole....

Also can anyone recommend a good supplier for decals? the only one I have looked at so far is
