passed me test first time on a Tiger cub 250 in February 1965, examiner walked alongside me for the slow speed stuff and stood out in the road for the emergency stop, kept the Cub for another 6 months then traded up to a 500.
Halcyon days :pc

Started in my early teens on my Dad's old James ( Villiers 9D engine with hand gear change) riding in our garden - not very big, but an end house with a side garden so learnt clutch control at least.

Got an Ariel Leader when I was 17 and passed my test. Then on to a BSA A10 with sports sidecar. Lovely bike. Various bikes after that including a 650 Panther with sidecar, Francis Barnett 197 for messing about on, an M.Z,. CX500 and my present bike - FZ6 S2.

Also had 4 Reliants in my time. (Do I get a medal for bravery for admitting it?) Made passing my car test easy later on.

David.  :D

First ever ride was on a 250n superdream but learnt on a GP100 (ish ended up being a GP100 bottom end 125 top end, carb and disk valve, microns dropped the rear cog by 9 teath to keep front end on the ground) never had an accident on it but did loose it once in a snow drift !!!!!!!

After 15 years EX-Fazer owner XJR. XJR gone FJR, FJR gone NEW FJR that's gone, now Triumph Tiger Explorer  an CB400n Superdream sold BMW 650 Funduro sold Now a R1200GA Adventure Rallye next ? OK so where next turns out to be V-Strom 1050 NEXT?
