Clicking noise from rear wheel
« on: 14 August 2021, 01:54:19 pm »
hi guys

the other day put a new disc on disc didint seam warpped but......
i have that feeling you get when the disc is warped that it juuders when braking ......... wheel spins and has a spot where is rubs and stops the wheel.....
also hear clicking sound from wheel/caliper
remove caliper and clicking goes away

wheel bearing seam fine no play but when i check the cush drive is really loose and needs replacement could this be the reason inclucing bearings that the clicking is happening or could it be a new disc thats warped and cush drives and bearings all at once??
any  help apreciated

Remove the disc and check it's not warped, just lay it on a flat surface, it must be flat a glass table is best.  If the whole circumference isn't in contact with the surface it's not it's warped send it back.

The other likelihood is you've not seated the disc squarely onto the wheel or there's crap under the mating surface, and/or you've got the wheel totally out of alignment, this should be obvious as it will effect chain tension.

Might be worth checking the pads is seated correctly, I think there is a spring plate inside the calliper check it’s seated.

make sure you check the sprocket carrier bearing aswell - it caught me out once and i bought a new chain sprocket before noticing.

98-03 carrier bearing - 6206-2rs (make sure it is a 2rs for longer life as its sealed on both sides)
