I've only ridden one once and it was a terrific sports bike. I didn't find it uncomfortable which was a bit of a shock and as I'm no spring chicken.

I'm intrigued as to why you think the French Police are at fault when it was the drivers of these vehicles who were breaking the law.

700 miles on a fazer in one day is fine with regular stops.

You have to do what is right for you. In this difficult financial climate I'm sure the extra pennies will be handy. It doesn't mean you can't come here for the banter though.

I have no sympathy for those who are foolish enough to ride without basic protection. I'd rather be a little warmer than have my skin ripped off and bones ground down.

General / Re: Olympic Conclusions
« on: 14 August 2012, 01:13:35 pm »
Yes, it was a lot of money, but its bought a sense of achievement to the country, a sense of pride, showed that we can still do things well, showed us in a good light to the rest of the world, and the list goes on.

I think it starts look almost cheap, mesself.

You are quite correct. The majority of the money came from the Lottery and Corporate sponsorship and less than £1 from each taxpayer.

I was concerned that the constant ramming of the Olympics down the nation's throat for the last 7 years would have a detrimental effect but I'm pleased to say it has been a great success and one I'm pleased to have participated in.

Went into the Southampton store today and was very disappointed as everything was at 20% reduction. Walked out as the prices are ridiculously high anyway and 20% off was an insult for a closing down sale.

I've heard that some stores may stay if a proposed takeover goes ahead.

Around the 3 years mark. I've never been one for swapping cars or bikes just for the change.

Apparently the case has become a little bogged down with the suspect believed to be a (re)peat offender.

General / Re: Rider Fatigue
« on: 26 July 2012, 08:38:11 am »
Remember your body behaves differently on the bike than it will in the car. Factors such as age, health, weather conditions etc all have a bearing. We all have to adapt the way we drive/ride on any given day. There are days when I can ride at high speed for hours and others where I just want to plod along at 50mph. Enjoy the ride and take everything that has been said into consideration.
