I've just been to see a Doctor. They think (LOL) that following 40 years of motorcycling (and a couple of accidents) that I may have developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my left wrist. What effect will this have on my riding in the future? I know that several regular contributors on here have had similar diagnosis - what mods have you found eases the symptom's on your Fazer? TIA

I've now come to the conclusion that the 1000, will not be going back to standard, so I have the following for sale:
FZS1000 2001/02 Exhaust Headers and link pipe. EXUP was removed as it was rattling like a good 'un and it was quicker for me to buy and fit a complete Black Widow system, however, with patience, some cobalt drills and a few replacement parts it could be like new again. Look tatty, but it's been outside for the last 4 months. In the plastic bag are the EXUP parts.
£50.00 collection only.

This winter, fitted the Slip On Kit (I think, not sure what the FOC I fitted - it came with drills, needles and jets ) and on the first few rides, seemed to get about 48 mpg. (I don't thrash it, just don't hang about lol ). At this point I had Michelin PR4's on. I recently changed to Avon Storms. On a run up to Nottingham (from Worcester) the mpg has now gone to 58. Not complaining. Mainly motorway/dual carriageway with an occasional hoon into 3 figures. Has anyone else noticed a big change with either the Ivans kits or just changing tyres?

So I'm changing the battery on the 1000. No great shakes, easy job to do. The question is, I come from a Lead/Acid background, always have fitted them as I like to be able to maintain levels etc. The last battery I fitted to the 1000 was an sealed AGM battery, which has only lasted 7 years. Its hooked to an Optimate when the bikes not in use. So, Are these Motobatt's any good and do they need their own chargers? Has anyone had a really negative experience with Motobatt? Has anyone fitted anyother make which they would like to recommend? Looking at the Tanya website, there are a lot of batteries which are a fraction of the price, some AGM and some traditional Lead/Acid. Lithium is off the menu - I don't agree with the employment methods for extraction! (And Boeing's keep catching fire ) TIA.

Amongst the many bikes in the garage, I have an old (1992) XJ600S Diversion. Its a great little bike for blatting around town and the missus loves it for longer trips out (she rides herself). There used to be a forum, which, okay had gone quiet, but has now disappeared. Does anyone know of any forum which may cover said machine?
Thought I'd ask here as both machines have come out of the same factory (so to speak).

A question for the FOC-U fonts of knowledge. Gen 1 1000 FZS. Pilot Air Screw setting. In both the Good Book of little fibs (Haynes!) and the genuine Yamaha service manual, the pilot air screws are set at 2.0 turns out. Have I seen on here that 3.0 is recommended and if so why? I've currently got mine set to 3.0 and it seems very rich and will start from cold with no choke. Answers please, not on a postcard

Chaps, getting to helmet replacement time, currently using a Caberg flip up, which I find a tad noisy at times. I have looked at a couple of lids, namely a Roof V8, a Shark and a Schuberth C3. Looking at staying with flip fronts - they are so handy. Anyone got any thoughts or input?

I have a 2002 FZS1000 (in red ) and through the dark months will be doing some fettling. I have noticed that there are some areas around the engine (in silver) which could do with "touching up". Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best paint around, just for "touching up" purposes?

This has probably been asked many times before but...... I need tyres, currently have Road Angel's fitted, which the bike came with. This is the first time I've had Pirelli's on a bike since the 80's when I had them on a GS1000 - they have changed a bit!!!!! I "enjoy" fast A roads, not pushing but enjoying if you know what I mean. The bike before the Thou, was a FJR1300 which had Metzler Z6's on - good tyres and would give consistent grip throughout the life. (Around 10K each pair) So, suggestions please (not on a postcard), I fit my own so mail order will work. I am tempted by Z6's - anyone had any experience with them?

Says it all really Just bought a Gen 1 FZS1000 after writing off a FJR1300 by hitting a deer. Needed a lighter bike and look what came up. Came with the Givi luggage - sweet.
