It's a shame it's dark or I would have gone down to the sea front and waved across the water to you. :lol

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Should I attempt a 4 spanner job?

It should be possible without the drastic action of a cylinder head removal. you can sometimes drill out the stud in stages by going up by drill sizes and tapping out the final bit, or, getting hold of a helicoil set and doing it this way. You may need to remove the front forks for easier access, especially if you're working at floor level. but don't forget to prop up the bike. Or alternativly take it to your local bike shop they must come across this quite alot and even if costs a few quid it's cheaper than a cylinder head job.
hope this helps.

Hi Paul
I got a 2001 black fzs 600. Can't fault it :D Used mainly for work and the occasional blast. Mate of mine like you also had a fz6 and he too rated his old fzs 600 over the newer model. This reminds that i must get across to Abergavenny sometime for a brew at the car park cafe.

Cheers Mike, hope your itinerary went to plan and once again thanks! You also left me one of your screwdrivers as treasured momento. :D
All the best

He didn't come to Somerset, it was Oxford way, we had some private detective pillock in the seventies called shoestring.

Moto 2 & 3 weren't bad races Unfortunately yours truly entered F1 mode with main race, watch first 5 laps, fast forward, fast forward, fast forward, stop, something looks interesting, rewind, replay, fast forward, fast forward. push play for the last four laps. delete recording from sky+ :z Thank god for BSB

I too have just had mine pepped up with a full monty. Excellent midrange and throttle response. And as for Mike, well what that guy doesn't know. Now looking forward to run across the Mendips to BSB at Thruxton next Sunday.

As far as I'm concerned with this method you have a better idea of what's going on behind. With the fairing mounted mirrors such as on me 600 it's difficult to see past me elbows.

Cheers mate, I'm new to this forum lark. I believe you reside in bonnie Scotland. Me and the great one would like to take on a B&B in around fort william. Pipe dream at the moment though. However,  my favourite stretch is the road from Tyndrum to Oban.
Wot you riding?

Hi all, I've been visiting this site for the last year or so  but I never got my ass in gear until now to register. I've got a blue gen 1 which I've owned for about a year, R6 shock mod (thank you Luke), Ivanised (only fitted this morning by that very nice man from spain, thank you Mike) Metamachex swingarm and other bits. Cracking bike, especially with the mods. Have done a couple of trips on her to Scotland. Looking forward to BSB meetings etc. Also interested in any Fazer meets.

If i've done it right I should have attached a pic of my pride and joy. While I'm at it, one is also a proud owner of FZS 2001 600

look forward to any replies or sarcastic comments
