Title: LOFO trip to Portsmouth - Sunday 4th June
Post by: HarryHornby on 09 May 2017, 11:42:31 am
Hi All,

Anyone fancy one of our days out to Portsmouth on Sunday 4th June?  Usual affair, Loads of cafe stops, Breakfasts, piss taking, bike maintenance checks by Red, A272, Dazza's dogging tours, getting lost, lots of smiles.

Who's in?

Guys, where was that place near Portsmouth that we ended up at last year?  It was on a big hill overlooking Portsmouth.  We stopped in a carpark by a tea van, but before we go there, there was a military/fort kind of place.  Does anyone remember what that was?

Was thinking it might be nice to try and go somewhere for a walk round as well as the ride, or going on past adventures is it best to take the day as it comes?

PORTSDOWN where we had tea , theres a bigger , better car park and tea hut further down ,  a better view imo....I'll do a bit of research regarding military stuff....on our first attempt at SAMMY MILLERS   :rolleyes  we ended up at HMS victory , had a good wander round , a good day....

HH,
Will you be leaving Gravesend on the A227.If so I could meet you at the roundabout at the bottom of Wrotham Hill where the A227 meets the A20, or outside the garage just before the Oakdene, with whoever else can make it.

I say 8.00 but we know that to most foccers that means any time between 8.00am and 10.30!!  LOL  I am also allowing breakfast time in there too.

I am kind of assuming we will leave Nell's around 0900 ish, and I'm hoping that by adding on an extra half hour we can't be late!!!   :lol 8)

Eah?  Who wrote that??  ;)

We normally head out through Cuxton, out towards the hop farm and out towards Tunbridge Wells to pick up the A272.  Any of that any good to you, Robbo?

HH,
I'll do my best to meet you at Nell's,which will be easiest all round. If I don't get up in time due to late Saturday night music gig, I'll see you at The Chalet. Either way I can grab some breakfast.

My brother's going to try and make this, either meeting up with us at Nells or somewhere en-route .
Apparently, he's going to take his wife somewhere blindfolded, within a 25 mile radius and she's got to make her way back home on foot.......Reminds me of a game my wife used to play, she used to love walking, set herself a target of 10 miles a day........Fuck knows how far away she is now.

270 miles in total for me.  Fab day out and great to catch up.

Did anyone else notice Dazza's rear light not working at times on long straights?  One minute I could see it, next minute it appeared to be hanging off and pointing to the floor, then it would be ok again, you might want to get that checked under warranty along with the fork seals, I reckon there could be a corrolation there  :lol
