Engine Rattle
« on: 19 May 2024, 03:32:01 pm »
Loud rattle (almost a knock) from the engine at all engine speeds. Quieter at idle, louder on light throttle openings, almost disappears under larger throttle openings.
I'm guessing its timing chain related. Also noticed an oil leak but the bike won't have lost much more than 250ml.
Roughly 65k miles. Thoughts?

Definitely more of a knock or clatter than a rattle.
Sounds like its coming from the front sprocket cover.
When you touch that area, you can feel the knock.

Does it in drive and when stationary.

Idle speed set to 1500rpm. Once the engine is hot it tends to idle at around 1800rpm
