Title: Dropped by lovely bike!
Post by: alexanderfitu on 07 February 2013, 07:34:33 pm
Forgot to take the front disk lock off my bike today, you can guess what happened, one very painfull leg later and one slightly smahsed up bike lying on the floor.

Grr

Whats it the best thing to use to touch up the engine casing,  I have a scratch (to my otherwise pristine) right hand crank cover that will need some paint, any ideas?

That sucks mate! Hope you'r leg isn't too bad.

Is your engine gloss or satin finish? I got some touch up paint from ebay the other day. fair price and should do the job.. best results would be to tape up around the casing and give it a sand with varios grits to make sure the surface is smooth then paint the whole casing so it's not as obvious as just touched in scrapes.  ;)

Plasticote will do the job in gloss. I see u broke a front brake lever and your back brake pedal. Fazer Spares have some second.

Cheers all, only just seen the replies to this, forgot to subsrcibe to the thread!

Yeah the leg is back to normal today, It was where I used it to try and stop the bike going down, was never going to happen.

Luckily the scrape on the engine casing really isnt that bad, after looking at it in daylight, if I touched it up, you wouldnt see it.

I think im going to repair the fairing as well, cant find any front fairings that are in good condition.

Goodluck mate. Take plenty pics and then if anyone else needs to try and do the same then they'll have a reference to what you did to fix it and how it went. Sure someone down the line will appreciate it  ;)

Of course!

I started doing that a year or so ago, and I now get over 1000 hits a month!

Have a look http://fotifixes.com (http://fotifixes.com)

Ah, that's you! got it. Was looking at the heated grips one not long ago, very helpful! Thinking of getting a set sometime, can't decide what to go for, thinking of a set of r and g ones as the oxford ones get pretty bad press and are pretty expensive...

Thats me :)

These are the ones I got:

Very good piece of kit, not too expensive, the only issue I have with mine, is that the temperature LEDS are immensly bright, which is very annoying when riding at night!
