Never had an issue with the Police for this very same thing. Had great pleasure doing it recently with a mobile speed camera van. As long as its done in a reasonable manner then all's good with me.. I believe its described as "making progress"  ;)

Problems with sidestand cutout switch or kill switch shouldn't stop the low fuel and low oil lights coming on.  More likely to be dirty starter button contacts or broken wire to starter button.

I only read the first post..  :b

Poor contacts on the kill switch caused a similar issue on mine..

Swapped mine for the LED type bulbs too. Easy to mistake that there are 4 panel bulbs and not 3.. I now have a very bright low fuel warning light  :D

I was always lead to believe that the main damage caused by ethanol, particularly in the cheaper lower octane petrol, was to any rubber components, o-rings, seals, gaskets etc within the fuel system..

Are oem chain/sprockets really that different from aftermarket items?.. Aside from the price that is  :)

Many have re-used the originals several times.. I have purchased the non genuine items without an issue before now

I tend to slide back towards the tank if I try to put some distance from it personally

Yup sitting on the seat slope, usually to get a bit of extra legroom ends same way for me.. Getting carried away with the mr sheene doesnt help either  :rolleyes

As above.. When the chain tension is inconsistent thru a full revolution despite all links being free. Easy to miss if not checked properly

I never knew there was metric horsepower :\ .. So in effect it could be a 33bhp restricted fzs?..  Wow I thought 47bhp was bad enough  :)

Thanks Darrsi.. I just remember a while back everyone being confused over which bike ya could n couldnt restrict. I wondered if anything had become clearer or maybe less strict over time.. The only bike Iv ever had that was restricted was my 50cc back in '82  :)

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Power Restriction: Carbs (A2 Licence)
« on: 16 October 2016, 09:19:09 pm »
I was under the impression that A2 bikes were to be no more than 47bhp, or if restricting a full power bike it shouldnt have been more than double that figure originally.. ie 94bhp.. Arent fzs's pumping out a little more than that?.. Theres also a minefield of power to weight ratio to contend with. I know lots prob remove the kit 10 mins after its fitted and fair play to 'em if thats ya bag.. Yes I get the point that this all has to be proved and also only if you get caught  :)

The standard bars are pretty swept back as they are. Wont a wider renthal with poss less sweep make it even more of a reach?

Can you legally A2 restrict an FZS?.. I know it is a grey area with original power output figures

ps granted the FZ6 is a peach of a motor, but it wont quite make the power up top and scream in the way an R6 does  ;)

See where you at with chain length just changing the front sprocket first. 1 tooth on the rear is neither here nor there really in terms of gearing

Mainly been stripping, cleaning and regreasing the rear shock linkage assembly  :)

« on: 09 October 2016, 01:22:19 pm »
Iv only ever replaced front sprockets +/- 1 tooth.. Found that adjustment enough of a change for the gearing needed. Also if the chain is decent I can usually re-use it without replacing or faffing  :) .. Fazer 600 standard gearing isnt far off for me if Im honest tho
