Indeed. Jeans just won't protect you!

Not sure about the bike though, it weighs less than 10Kg, so probably won't affect the hadnling much. Just hope the mount is securely fastened to the m/bike

cant see Mr Plod being happy about that one.. ok the weights not a problem but a nice head height bar sticking backwards with no warning triangle might just tick them off a bit..

be a weird sight going down the road though..

Does anyone have any sensible suggestions for carrying a guitar on a bike? Both mine have hard luggage. I can carry it on my back in a gig bag for up to 10 miles although I'm always aware of the damage it could cause to my spine if I came off. It's OK as long as i don't do much more than 60 mph otherwise wind pressure tries to pull me off the back.

TIA.

Cheers

John

Presuming by "hard luggage" you are including panniers, do you need them there at the same time? If not, you might be able to work out a rig to replace one pannier with something to hold the guitar (preferably on the side away from the pipes).

Hi Graham,

I've been thinking along the same lines. If i can find a cheap pannier or top box (possibly damaged) I might be able to fix the back of it to my guitar case.

Cheers

John

Alternatively you might be able to cut a section out of the top of the pannier, put in some high density foam to cushion the guitar body, then a couple of straps to go over the body each side of the neck to keep it secure.
