I still laugh about a club ride out a few years ago - I lost track of the number of times we had to stop, pick up the part which had dropped off and then wait while it was bolted back on (or ty-wrapped!) to the HD. The rest of us all had Jap built machines, I don't even think there was even a European built machine present.  :lol :lol :lol

It’s funny how a make of bike can have an unreliability stigma, although most are true. I remember at the ‘95 Bol d’Or, virtually every recovery truck had a Ducati strapped on the back. Nearly all were current, at the time, 900SS’s. Now owners are putting some serious miles on Multistradas, but most seem to be sold before the 3 years are up :lol

Going back further, Suzuki GS electrics, made better with Honda Superdream Regulator/Rectifiers, or the Honda VF750F with chocolate cams, made better with Honda cams.

I think we are blessed to have a bike as reliable as the Fazer Thou..

Chain and sprockets will be my next job, sometime over the next few days. Providing the weather stays fine, I should be doing my annual day trip to Cornwall next Sunday. Not much planned after that until mid September, when it’s Bol d’Or time :thumbup

Rubber fitted. PR4's came off nicely and the Avons went on easily. Both wheels done in about 2hrs.

Leave it until next Sunday, and come to Cornwall for the day. You’d certainly get the highest mileage travelled award :lol

Would love to - but working in Nottingham area all weekend. (I heard the grandkids are coming)  :rollin :rollin :rollin .
Helmets are on charge, as SWMBO wants to get out on the XJ600S for an hour or two, so tomorrow it is. Out from Worcester along the A4103, cracking scrubbing in road. :D

Did you go down towards Hereford. Certainly a nice part of the country, know it quite well :thumbup

Yes we did, stopped at a little cafe for refreshments as well  :eek .
Tyres are nearly scrubbed in - will finish it tomorrow.
The only downside to the day was watching my wife run wide on a roundabout, leave the road and drop the XJ at about 5 - 10 mph on a footpath.
Pride dented. It took about 15 minutes to get her back on to get home.

Oh no :eek . Hope she’s ok, bet that dented her confidence more than the bike. At least she had an escape route by the sound of it. Hopefully you can both get out again soon, get some miles under the wheels, and put that days event firmly in the past. :thumbup

A bent indicator stalk and a scratch on the exhaust. There's a possibility that she's cracked a rib or two and I keep cracking jokes  :lol :lol :lol

Ouch…cracked ribs take ages to heal, something like 6 months  in the couple of occasions it’s happened to me. Going up to the bar always gives you a reminder, as you lean on the bar to get served and give yourself a dig in the ribs :lol . Still I suppose wives aren’t “getting them in” that often ;) .

Same again next weekend  :lol . And the best bit by far, we're moving at the end of this month. She's doing all the packing of stuff, whilst I've been busy working.  :eek

Still - I've yet to straighten the indicator stalk, which will mean hours in the garage making sure its the same as the other one........... :rollin
