It's come to an end :(
« on: 16 March 2017, 08:42:48 pm »
Hello fellow foccers...
As you or may not be aware I've sold my fazer and now moving on to pastures new.
I'd like to thank you all very much for your help on my bike and a few personal issues I've shared with you over the last two years of ownership of my faithful steed.
But as said, time to move on and I've now bought a Pan European from a private seller a way down in London.
Getting it was a deal in itself, train journey down and ride the bike back, blown all over the road with the start of this storm that's just starting.
A big special thank you goes out to celticdog, who let me stay at his place on the way home to catch up on some sleep, sandwiches and coffee :) All very much appreciated and hope I can return the favour someday.
I'll keep in touch with the forum now and then as I've still got a few things lying around that may be of use to someone :)

Cheers guys,

Sinto
Colin

If you want to munch miles, the Pan will take all you can throw at it. Had an ST1100 back in 2000, bought essentially for me and the Mrs. to follow the European rounds of WSB. Regretted selling it as soon as the guy rode away from my house.
Enjoy, and ride safe :thumbup

no need for you to leave mate, lots of us on here have moved on from a fazer (wish I hadn't!) but we're still here. Bought my last bike in similar circumstances to you, train from Liverpool to Lands End then rode home in every weather imaginable :lol

been thinking of a Pan myself, what reg/mileage is yours and what did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
Is it just the collecting box that still needs an eye out when buying?

Not going to leave, just be visiting now and again lol

Things I was told to look out for...
Collector box
Stainless exhausts
Stainless downpipes
Swing arm
Alternator
Radiator

The bike I picked up is on a T plate with only 46,500 miles but 11 previous owners which I didn't know till I got there, but on the plus side had the seat lowered for my short arse syndrome, also had two usb sockets and a cigarette lighter size socket in the left hand glove box. The lights are better than the fazer but only just, but being 2 H4's there's sufficient light but mines has been upgraded to orsam nightbreakers or similar as definitely better than standard.
The 450miles I done on it so far were very comfortable, and not stressing my carpal tunnel syndrome, so I'm really looking forward to trying it out on a good days run without the extra load and the wild winds I endured on it's maiden voyage lol

Well, would've been a lot better run if that storm stayed away but it's done now and the fun begins :)

All the best  8)

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
