So , does size matter ?
« on: 20 December 2015, 08:21:34 pm »
Soon i will be chopping the bike in, yes easy, i am totally 1000cc minded, perhaps blinded, well they are awesome to ride.lol

Now not the Noggy route, lol   he's stupid

I weigh under 12 stone, nw thinking clever,,i dont need a big engine,,a 600 or 7 or 8 will skuttle me along nicely,,  but this is where the benefits will come,,,,total weight , oe lack of it..

I need a bike to go 130 or 140,,why,,incase i do a bank job missus.

I sat on a couple of dukes, super motard and the small strada,,seemed plenty big enough.

Plus they cost a whole lot less than 1000cc bikes,

There is the tiger 800 sport, looks a dream, met a chap at the oasis could not praise them more.

So what other models lurk with a bit of fairing to hide behind on the european rain circuit ?

There isn't a Tiger 800 Sport. All the 800s are 'Adventure' bikes in road (XR) and (supposedly) off-road (XC) versions.  There is a 1050 Sport.

Depends what you want to do with it , if your looking for something for longer distances , then bigger is more practical , but if your looking for some thing for weekend blasts then the middleweight are fine and just as much fun , lots of choice out there and don't worry/ about cost that's what PCP is for .

I've got a Tiger 800. It's not nimble, and it's certainly not light. Comfy though  :) As said Street Triple is an obvious choice

Z800 is only 10 kg lighter than Z1000, is it worth  30bhp drop ?

When I do get around to lifting the cover off my bike I will fall in love with it again and say fuck it !!! :lol

I can't ride a Street Triple or Speed Triple; as well as being naked the riding position is all canted forward - I feel too near the ensuing accident  ;) .

I agree the Tiger 1050 R (or Sport) was a brilliant ride and has a 'Fazer' look about it, but you are looking at a 5 figure price which put me off, along with pricey servicing.  Second hand ones that have done a Winter still rust and corrode.

Just a thought, I took out a Fazer 8.  They didn't get the best press, but I thought it looked good and the engine is an absolute peach.  Suspension was under-damped was my only complaint but perhaps it wasn't set up properly.  Best of all they come at the right money - more like £5K for a mint low miler?

One of my mates has jumped in with a change,,he has bought a===============aa          ====

BMW1000rr, a  full power to disappear into the distance bike,,bugger.

He last bought a Speed Triple in the spring, it broke down on our trip to Italy.Mugello,,got it repatriated on breakdown cover,,he then fell out of love with it,totally dissalusioned.
It seems the fault was the middle spark plug corroded and broke down, now he did a google search and it seems this is a coomon fault with water collecting in the center pot, naked bike problem,

Thankfully someone else is going slower this year.

See you on the Welsh circuit slim........ill be the one with no wind protection, no water protection, no dash dials, no speed & no sense..........but i will have a big "fat" smile :D

Just my thoughts....i dont think youd get on with the build quality of KTM or Aprillia.........and what is the budget anyway...have you already said that?.

Get an FZ6 series 2.....more than capable.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
