Rear brake upgrade - quick question
« on: 22 October 2015, 07:11:29 pm »
I've got new new caliper all ready to go on, just wondering what bit gets shaved off the carrier for it to fit??

I.e. is it a couple of mm from the 'face' of it, or is it around the boot holes?!?

cheers!!

mount the left bolt and you will see which bit is preventing the right bolt to allign. Hanger touches the caliper body.

You can file off either of them. On the old forum somebody has filed off the hanger. This guy has removed a bit from the caliper body:

Personally I would go for the hanger.

yeah, I don't fancy messing with the caliper, the bracket/carrier seems much better.

cheers, I'll have a go at it and see how I get on... if I take too much off, I'll give you a shout!  :rollin

just file it then put the caliper to it, a bit at a time! it can get quite messy though so id be tempted to do it away from the bike

wasn't really the upgrade I was thinking it would be, maybe I was expecting too much, but at least it looks a lot better now!  :rollin :rollin
