fzs600 1998 Frontend wobble
« on: 14 June 2015, 06:38:09 pm »
 :'(. Hi guys and girls.
Right now I'm experiencing a front end wobble. This started i think when i changed the tyre. The size has changed a little from 110/70 to 110/60. Has anyone else experienced this.I have tried everything I can think of like bearing, calipers, wheel balanced, head bearings this list is getting endless.
Has anyone come across this issue?
oh yeah should mention it happens when I come of the throttle and speed drops to 43-42 wobbles until speed is below 40-39. I know this is not much but you ride alot around the back roads it gets that bad where I'm losing the felling in my right hand.
and help would be much appreciated.

Suspension settings, back and front ?....had a similar wobble on my thou, new swing  arm bearings cured that, have you checked rear wheel bearings. ?..sounds weird I know but the rear end can upset the front end.......oh, tyre pressures ?

+1 for tyre pressure being the cause. Needs 34 in the front  :thumbup

I was gonna say check the rear shock.
Mine leaked oil and i was riding on the spring for a while.

Why change the tyre for the wrong size anyway?

dropping from a 70 profile to a 60 profile would only cause turn in slightly quicker but not upset things that much as it`s only dropping front by approx 5mm if that
as i say before get it balanced

You sure the chain hasnt been done up too tight when you got new tyres and when you throttle off it is maybe kicking about a bit....how much slack you got?
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Okay so chain is normal about 25mm play.
I think I will be buying a new set of wheels and hoping the will sort the issue out. As I think it has come from going from 110/70 to 110/60. These are not the tyre suppliers recommend.  The 110/70 is not sure but I think the guy put in on as I needed a new tyre and he couldn't get the 110/70 so he got the 110/60.
What type of tyre would you guys suggest.

Round black ones seem to work really well :rollin

But seriously, I'm going to get Michelin Road Pilot 3's when I need to be replacing mine.
