Headlamp replacement on 2004 FZ6 - ignore Mr Haynes
The headlamp bulb blew when I started the bike up at work last night so had to ride home 14 miles with full beam on - sorry cage drivers!
Debated getting standard replacement bulbs from the stealers but decided to pop in to Halfords when I was out anyway - picked up one of
these to give it a go.
Being a mechanical dunce I looked at the Haynes manual and it said to take the fairing cowling off. Fk that I thought and got the fat fingers in there - it was a bit fiddly but the plug came off ok, bulb clip was fine to get off and bulb came out no bother - fitting the new one was just a bit fiddly but only took 5 mins - job done without taking the fairing off. The bulb looks pretty good tbh - with full beam on it's about the same light coming out of both sides - will see what it's like in the dark next week when I'm back at work.
So don't always trust the manual!
