I could see on french stone walls, and brick - perfect, but for plaster I have had a try but perhaps it was a crap diy system but as well as spray I got "spits" and you have to thin it down so much you have to do it loads of times, could be down to crap sprayer. And then there is all the cleaning up wheras I just throw the roller, I have done a lot of painting and found the best way is a normal roller which if left will give a slight texture which I do not like so while it is still wet I go over it with a foam gloss roller without loading it with paint and that flatens the first rollers textue. You need to work fast, floor to ceiling and feather off each strip that you have done and then 2 or 3 coats. For the wall to ceiling join where the roller would otherwise touch the ceiling I use a brush and then flatten that off with a smaller mini foam roller.
Im not a painter but ive done a lot like that and it gives a perfect flat finnish, like you would expect from a sprayer.
My choice of paint is always a satin - not silk or matt.
And would avoid painting in this weather as it drys so fast you canot feather it and you can see the overlaps
