Not sure that will enhance Nick, sure it will cut down a bit of weight, what about the degree advancer, and if the carbs are coming out there must be other stuff.

It won't improve performance, but it makes changing plugs or removing cam cover a lot easier. I have a 4 degree ignition advancer, which gives more midrange, but a fraction less outright power. Fitting the full monty with carb rubber/air box mods is as good as it gets unless you fit a full akrapovic system or similar (££££££££££££ :'( ) Fitting a full system also gets rid of the exup valve.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

Back up we go. Come on you tight Scottish foccers. Best bit of money you can spend on a gen 1!

Just so people know, this is also open to anyone else in England/the borders who is willing to make the ride up to have it done (still unconfirmed wether it will be Edinburgh or Glasgow, but it's looking more like Glasgow at this point I think).

no worries Andrew, looks like there should still be spaces available nearer the time anyway. Still plenty of time to see how your fixed for it :)

I would say so. There are literally hundreds of guys on here who have had their bikes ivanised by Mike over the years, and I've never read even one person say it was not a worthwhile mod. That's good enough for me :)

I had my bike Full Monty'd by Mike mid May and have just been on a bike trip in France for a week. The bike was faultless with considerably more mid range grunt than standard and a stronger power delivery in the higher rev range. The fuelling is spot on and you can drop right down to low revs and it just pulls cleanly as you accelerate. I was interested to see what the mods would do to the MPG which averaged at 49 mpg before and 50.5 mpg after. See picture below. The lowest (48 mpg) was a fast motorway blast from Bournemouth to Folkestone. The other fills were French roads. I would thoroughly recommend having this work done.

First time I've seen extended fuel consumption records on a Full Monty'ed Gen 1 ... that's impressive.  Thanks for posting. :)

Guys, the date in the opening post is provisional.  What we need first is a clear indication of interest and and idea of which date/dates would work for people.

With that in mind, would the 'yes' and 'definite maybe' clans please indicate that here again, together with dates in September to be avoided.  I will try my best to work something out date-wise which caters for the maximum number. :)

Thanks,BBB. Maybe the best approach is this - for any of you who are interested and up for this, are there any dates that are NOT suitable for you personally? If we know this we can select the best date by process of elimination.
