Erm, my Aprilia futura must have been built by Ducati then, because it's been the most expensive and unreliable I've ever owned!
Electrics went tits up several times and it eventually caught fire, wheel bearings in the back wheel collapsed and nearly killed me, plus many more stupid little things that shouldn't have gone wrong.

My bike was probably built by the Aprilia apprentice on a friday! ::)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

First I've heard of (been an owner for 11yrs and club member for 9yrs) - sorry to hear that - the exception that proves the rule  :)

I have to say that my FJ 1200 has been utterly reliable over 25 years and so has Liz's Gen 1 Fazer 1000 over 12 years - hence I'm also a Yamaha fan - but both Yams have suffered more furry alloy and "thin paint" than the RSV.

My fave bike of them all is defo the FJ 1200.

It was a right Jonah, but it did some miles!
Saying that, my bro-in-law has owned his mille streetfighter 5-6 years, and it's on 47 thousand now. Only had the sprag clutch go wrong and a couple of minor things. And it sounds like thunder. >:D

Well you've been "all round the mental Wrekin", caused 9 pages of forum debate, agonised over multiple choices, and guess what........?
You've had the vision, seen the light and, like a few other organisations, found you can join but you cant leave!
Now stop all this silly nonsense.....you've finally realised.... FAZERS RULE! but don't get all supercilious towards us humbler brethren on 600s!!!! :lol

I did not see that coming... as said above, after all the debate and decisions and lists you've ended up with a Gen 1 haha

Fantastic bikes though ^^

Gen2 deadeye.....i aint that old yet :b

Ye thanks very much everyone......it has been emotional and i did frequent the gen 2 a few times in my quest......i had to make a decision and for that money it was worth dipping my toe in the water.....now i will experience pure power......perhaps it wont be for me.....who knows but that itch will be scratched......id i like the Z800 but hey i can always try one in future when prices are lower.

Im really glad i get to stay in the foccer fold 8) , not to be underestimated as it really is a great club......even though i chat shit most of the time :rolleyes

And plus i dont feel so guilty about parting with the noggyfighter...im staying yam and staying fazer.......she wont grudge me that.

So Noggy - what happened to the "large capacity inline 4 isn't for me .....prob a twin...maybe a triple...", "a fairing isnt important as i do fine on my fighter".

Consistency not one of your strengths ?    :) :)

I am consistently inconsistent :lol

The price got me......it's was rude not to.

& if it isnt for me i'll easily get the same back for it again.

So i have a trip to Manchester and back.......on some of the nicest roads in Wales....that is the level of inconvenience ill have if i dont like it......& i'll be totally honest if i dont.....i'll know by the journeys end if it is t the bike for me.

Originally on another thread my requirement was better suspension on the 600......but counting up the required mods came to about £800 and i decided i just didn't want to soend another £800 modifying a bike that was only worth £800........so i started looking at bikes that had better handling packages and whilst i was at it i thought well you know lets also have a comfy bike and hmmm do i really need much power so maybe twins and triples.

But i was pretty settled on a Z800 which was an inline 4.....but they are 7k.....that's the biggest factor that changed my mind......given both bikes side by side at the same price i'd still have the Z and i wont lie about that.

Ive looked at the fz1 previously....whilst the top end power isnt really what i need i had decided that with large capacity also came large grunt so the lower down grunt will still be considerably more than i am used to.....i'll just need to learn to rein in the theottle a bit and not get too carried away.

& whilst i'm not fussed about a front fairing....well it certainly wont harm me i dont reckon.

Perhaps my biggest gripe might be the seating and leg position.....& time will tell with that one.....my 600 is jacked up which i like so maybe ill look at doing that to the thou.

Apart from that i'll be getting sports bike handling, a nice Nitron rear shock on a sweet chassis will do me nicely for the twisties.

So im sat with £800 worth of 600......another £800 would have seen it handling as best as it could have done......for £1600 all in.........for an extra 2k i now have a top performance machine that is 7 years newer.

Well what can I say.

Noggy has gone over to the dark side. Take a little break and the foccer goes soft in the head and lets face it Noggy's knoggin is bloody large and obviously empty.  At least he did not go for the oil thirsty BMW and turn his back on the foccer community on the whim of been overly pretentious  ;)

So what do you think his first and lets face it not last MOD will be?

He can't help but fettle and tinkle with small toys. Some say he over compensates for the lack of been able to satisfy himself on a daily basis that he must go and play alone in his man cave where he keeps a well stocked lube closet.

So will this be the demise of the FZS600 Fazer board and will he be accepted by the big boys and girls off the 1000 club?

Hope its not a good bye and that you enjoy the bike mate.
