Thanks guys, just won a used set of Oxford sports 50lt, only 35£. Did not want to spend too much, still concerned they won't work out for my touring set up. My 1st time touring so been buying all sorts and spent loads so happy for something cheap Will get something like slip proof mat to protect paint, will order once I have tried them on the bike.

Has anyone used any on a Fz1N, looking at the Oxford X50 but not sure how they will fit with the small rear seat... Cheers.

Cheers. Running the volts are good, charged the battery off the bike and after a couple of hours back on the bike it's dropped a little. Possibly just because it's in a colder environment than the house Will stop checking for a while, bikes not being used much so will check in a week or so rather than several times a day

Fitted a new battery to my Z1, I charged it before but did not need it. Anyway it only showed 12.3v when I connected it and after a few days is down to 12.1.... I have tested for a drain and there is nothing, tried a different meter and it shows the same. There is no problem starting the bike and the battery was showing healthy on the charger. Concerned that I will end up killing this new battery or is it normal for it to rest that low (I think not....) Confused

How did the cover reduce the seat space? Who are fowlers and whats an oe cover?
Really a sear cowl is my preference but im not paying mad money for the copperdawg ones which fit the gen 2 so thats why im now thinking a seat cover may be best
Sorry meant the seat type I got from them not a cover. Fowlers are a parts supplier, they supply Original Equipment parts, including the seat cowl, that was for a naked though, not sure about the S.

Oh and try Fowlers , I called them regarding the rear covers a few months ago and they can still get the OE ones. Mind you that was for my N..

That looks great man. Although ive more or less no DIY skills.
Its looking like maybe getting seat covers may be a good option. Came across these lads in poland

I got a front and rear seat from them, good quality other than a rip caused in transit. Was returned at their cost repaired and sent back to me within a week. Pics in the for sale section somewhere lol, never got on with it as the reduction in rider seat space was not to my liking...

Mid June two of us heading down through France to 1st stop in Germany then off to Austria for a couple of days. Next stop with Friends in Eastern Slovakia for a few days with some ride outs while there. Return route not confirmed yet but probably back to Austria via Hungary.... 15 days in all, 3-400 miles between stop off points. Did a 7 day euro sprint by car this year, 1st stop was southern Poland after a 19hr drive.... Can't wait

Yep I have given up trying to convince myself it's ok Although the bike is starting fine the battery is obviously on its way out, it's holding charge is dropping slightly every time I check. Found the Yuasa YTZ14S for 64£

That sounds fine to me....!
Maybe a little high but the battery condition you describe is technically speaking "fucked" so it will charge as high as possible to put some life into it..... 10.9v cranking is nowhere near enough.
Get a new battery, induct it properly and you problems will disappear.
Whale
Hi. I was happy lol shows 12.8 no ign, minor blip to 10.9 when cranking then straight up to 15 when running. Google lied as most links I read from searching said 9.5 and below while cranking is not healthy.

Evening! I have been checking the volts on my battery since it died after sitting for 4 weeks or so... All seems ok, holding high 12v and drops to 10.9 on cranking. I checked what was going in and it's 15.1 on tick over, no real rise at 3k rpm..... The bike was stone cold and only left running for around 30 seconds. The quick search I have done suggests this is too hi but should I have left the bike running a while to test fully or will that make no difference. I will check again tomorrow, not going back out now

It means the immobiliser is armed. It can flash anything upto 24 hours after removing the key but usually not for long.
Cool, thank you sir

Evening So just put my battery back in after it was left for 4 weeks (forgot to connect charger...) and it died... All ok now I think but have noticed the flashing red light next to the key symbol on the dash. Don't think I ever saw it flashing before. .... Maybe it always did So do they always flash with the ignition off? Cheers.

I opted for the TomTom Rider v5, very happy with it and works well with my Midland Next headset and iPhone 6

I got this new a month or so ago but my plans have changed, the covers are as new and only the rider seat has been used for around an hour. The pillion seat base does not fit my N so I guess it's for the S?? See pics. I took the cover off the rear seat and was going to fit it to mine but never bothered after deciding to sell on, I have re fitted and it's a good job but the staples don't look as well done as they did you can't tell though from the top!stitching and piping is silver. Price is £140 + £15 postage, would prefer collection as it would take me a few days to sort courier but can do if needed. Can take PayPal if payment sent as gift. If no interest I will tuck it away with everything else I buy for the bike and end up not using

So what was the initial problem?
My FZ1-s has centre stand mounting points on both sides of the frame. I take it your FZ1-n doesnt???
So where did you mount the accompanying centre stand bracket your local breakers provided? Pix would be good
I had no bracket on the off side, the sandwich type plate came from a 1s and bolted straight on. The near side mounting point was there already.
