FZS600 Fazer / Re: Water/Coolant temp gauge needed
« on: 17 July 2014, 08:26:52 pm »
Something like this although the OP doesnt explain how to connect the meter, and where to, and how, and what with.

http://fazerowners.yuku.com/topic/26836/99-600-head-water-leak-Deep-shit-#.U8Gli6YkWhc

I know many feel its unnecessary , but I want one and would like to do this mod.

noticed this excellent mod on the forum...
http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,10182.msg106048.html#msg106048

would like to do the same, may I ask a few questions please to help me using your experience,

1. where can I get a bracket?
2. can I use the eng temp sender (to the light in the dash) to drive a temp gauge ? any idea on gauges or are they all the same calibration?

or something like this (at 00:20 seconds)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRhFF4vGO7g
seems to be a sensor unit fitted into the cooling system; guess this would mean cutting the pipe and using jubilee clips to secure each end onto this device; how would I seal the joints (inside the rubber) and what size diameter is the hose?

I have a multi gauge which will show temp and gear selected etc

See here http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,14045.0.html

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Seat panels for 2003
« on: 13 June 2014, 10:08:04 am »
yeah they will be. most things on the gen 1 1997 to 2003 are interchangeable. 02 and 03 bikes will definitely be the same as they're both foxeye fazers opposed to the earlier boxeye.

Here's a list of differences by year: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,34.0.html

Chris

Thanks Chris for the info appreciated

Had a bit of a vibration at around 6k and with the help of info off the forum have cured it  :) replaced silencer gasket and tightened clamp worked a treat! also fitted new gear lever rubber and throttle twist grip just waiting for the left hand grip and then I will have the Oxford heated grips for sale  :D

Welcome to the madhouse1 nice looking (standard?) silver Foxeye. What you plan to do with it when the weather picks up?

Yes its standard and don't plan to change much other than tidy it up cosmetically considering its age its in really good shape just want to change the screen, smarten side panels etc. There are really good areas around where we live so lots of choice for days out, next year we are going to IOM TT with motorhome but struggling to get the bike over with us !!! Been to IOM loads of times but never for the TT would be great to go round the track on a bike :)

FZS600 Fazer / Removing Oxford heated grips
« on: 09 June 2014, 04:42:29 pm »
I am going to be removing the Oxford heated grips and then selling them on, they were already fitted when I got the bike so not quite sure how difficult a job it is to change them back to original.  Have already removed most of the wiring block etc and have ordered new twist grip/grip.

Is it very difficult to change over the throttle twist grip? any help much appreciated

Thanks

Recently purchased my second Fazer 600 had one a few years ago so really looking forward to getting out on it regularly. Me and my partner spent yesterday in checking it out thats the bike and my partner :) fortunately she loves it!! Couple of things need tweaking nothing serious just need it to dry up now so I can get out and tinker with it, its under cover but have no garage. I plan to use it as much as possible and at weekends.

May have to use this forum for help very soon :)
