Beyond patch up and stabilize no, same rules as I have when I go abroad.
So, no pain medication, no resetting of fractures, no blood transfusion? Nothing expensive then. Just tape over the holes and send you home?
I think you get a bit more than that in the EU, so why shouldn't we give the same back ?

Anyone who is a non UK resident
So that means no A&E for foreign bikers touring over here then ?

Yep good day out, and thanks to Kosmic and Expnut especially. Hope my tail-end-charlie routine didn't keep you waiting too long, but there was some typical bank holiday traffic out there today. Good ride back along the A25 with Kosmic where the traffic had thinned and I could keep up !
And we may have got a new recruit called Luv  :)

General / Re: any solicitor types on here?
« on: 04 May 2013, 05:33:53 pm »
I've done 3 estates myself without any problems, and one of them even involved Inheritance Tax (now Capital Gains Tax). If it's just property plus savings it's not difficult with some good books and and ability to understand instructions and forms. You can always use a Solicitor just for the difficult bits. You are paying for a Solicitor's clerk to do the easy bits. It's money for old rope.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: TomTom Rider 2nd Edition SatNav
« on: 04 May 2013, 01:20:25 pm »
That was definitely a problem with the 1st edition where movement in the cradle wore them down, but for the 2nd edition the sprung pins and better cradle largely overcame that. You need to trace back from the pins to the battery with a current tester. Worth checking the plug into the bottom of the cradle. That can come loose.

OK I'll stick with Westerham, somewhere on the Green. Look out for a red foxeye.

2934
What are the departure times for Blackheath and Westerham? If I'm going to be Billy No Mates at Westerham, I might get up a bit earlier and try for Blackheath

Do you mean the Is-16 ? I've got one of those, and love it. Previously had the FG-14. I like HJCs  :)

Get some Hagon front springs and a Hagon rear shock, and the handling will be transformed  :)

At 23, no :P Not even a girlfriend  :(
I was just trying to point out that wives are not necessarily the most logical people when it comes to dealing with emergencies (in my experience  :look )

General / Re: what did you do with your fazer today ?
« on: 25 April 2013, 11:42:30 pm »
Over the last couple of weeks:
36K service (shop)
Hagon progressive front springs (to go with the Hagon rear)
K&N air filter
adjustable levers
It is a delight  :)

I haven't tried it again since I 'fell off' in the garage. Must give it another go.

By this I mean, my friend knows to obviously try and call me first and to check Google Latitude to see if I am still moving before raising any alarm
That's not the wife then ......  :rolleyes

I use My Tracks all the time, not just for biking, but cycling, country walks etc. It's great. Be aware though that it records maximum speed, so don't let the rozzers see it .....
I've also tried CRADAR, which covers the falling off bit. Instead of ringing the ambulance service it texts a number you choose (the wife ?  :eek ) and tells them you've fallen off giving a location on Google maps. Has a similar 60 second 'cooling off' period where you can override before it transmits.
It also uses the phone's 'accelerometer' to detect a crash. I've tested it once so far, and it went off on a false alarm before I'd left the garage. Might require some fine tuning ......

And don't forget out speed signs are in miles per hour not kilometers, otherwise you might find yourself going a bit slow  :)
Other than that, depends on whether your importation is temporary or permanent. Here's some stuff https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/overview
Oh, and welcome to the UK and FOC

To those moaning about the dissenters, where the 'loud mouth think they can voice their opinion', and finding supporters are much quieter, I would suggest you don't start a thread saying 'wasn't Maggie great'.
And where you ask whether losers were self inflicted, the answer is 'no' otherwise why put the question mark in.
So, I hope the subject is now dead and buried (or possibly cremated)

Yep that's fine. Just wanted to double check, and would rather have too much info than not enough  :)
Thanks again.
PS nice levers aren't they ?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: clutch lever switch
« on: 17 April 2013, 09:44:35 pm »
Thanks for the tip. Just checking - it's the switch you cut back, not the flat plate on the lever?
As you will see in my last pic, I'd left the bolt on the clutch side done up only slightly finger tight, which I discovered 4 miles into my journey tonight  :fish
Fortunately I made it back home with the lever still in place ....

Longer versions now fitted. I seem to be having the same problem starting in gear with the clutch in, so will have to get the file out  :)

I have every respect for her as much as I have for any deceased person. I admire her as our first female PM, but that's where it stops. I loath what she did, and I loathe the pomp she is now being given and the suppression of any dissent.
If she had been given a private funeral I would not have batted an eyelid. As to the people she's left behind, well her children do leave something to be desired .....
