Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / New Battery Time
« on: 15 October 2022, 07:46:41 pm »
Just wanted to put this out there for anyone else wanting a new battery....
My one finally died (been on the bike for about 6/7 years so not done bad)
So i looked online and found Tanya batteries, and ordered a new YT14B-BS thursday evening and it was delivered friday lunchtime
Excellent service and cheaper than Halfords who couldnt deliver until next week.

Did mine and once all back together and primed it started up traight away  :lol

The kit i bought had new float needle valves which meant i had to reset the float heights
Going by the manual i turned them upside down and got a measurement of 12.5-13.5mm from carb body to top of float
Been using it the last two days and is alot better
Could do with checking the carbs for balancing but will prob do that the weekend

Removed the seat tank and sidepanels
Drained coolant and removed radiator and thermostat housing
Removed AIS system then coils and plug leads
Removed rocker cover and all clearances are well within spec  :lol  happy days

Put it all back together and refilled coolant

Next job is to check and balance the carbs, possibly sunday

General / Re: So What're You Listening To Today?
« on: 03 June 2022, 01:14:58 pm »
Today, I have listened to a symphony.
Called Black Widow, its in several movements, from the introduction through various pieces, i.e. 4,000 & 6,000. I think the composer is Yamaha. The best bit (I think) was the overrun, followed by the give it the berries.  :lol :lol

There are a few on ebay

Possible carb 4 slider making different noise when just flicking them up and letting drop ,, but just slight difference. Havent taken apart yet just visual check.

Whip the top off and check the diaphragm
