General / Remove profile.
« on: 18 June 2020, 07:03:32 pm »
Hello, been a long time since I was on here and I wish to remove my profile as I no longer have a Fazer nor do I use the group anymore.
Can you advise how I delete my profile and stop receiving emails?
Thank you.

General / It's come to an end :(
« on: 16 March 2017, 08:42:48 pm »
Hello fellow foccers...
As you or may not be aware I've sold my fazer and now moving on to pastures new.
I'd like to thank you all very much for your help on my bike and a few personal issues I've shared with you over the last two years of ownership of my faithful steed.
But as said, time to move on and I've now bought a Pan European from a private seller a way down in London.
Getting it was a deal in itself, train journey down and ride the bike back, blown all over the road with the start of this storm that's just starting.
A big special thank you goes out to celticdog, who let me stay at his place on the way home to catch up on some sleep, sandwiches and coffee :) All very much appreciated and hope I can return the favour someday.
I'll keep in touch with the forum now and then as I've still got a few things lying around that may be of use to someone :)

Cheers guys,

For Sale & Wanted / FZS 600 1998 and parts
« on: 10 February 2017, 07:16:05 pm »
Hello all,
I'm selling my 600 from 1998 on a R plate, looking for £950

Red (the fastest colour) ;)
Standard bike
33,088 miles
Recent front & rear sprocket & chain
Recent front fork seals and 15w oil
Recently had valve shims and gaps checked by a local garage (receipt available) and all is well
12 months MOT
New rear tyre
Plenty of life in front tyre
Rear hugger/chain guard
Front fender extender
Brand new still in packaging front & rear set of pads
Haynes workshop manual
Loads of previous MOT's & paperwork

This is a good honest bike with plenty of history although I've done all the servicing myself since I've owned it over the last two years, the only reason I'm selling it is that I have carpal tunnel syndrome on both wrists and will need to wait a long while to get them fixed, so no point it sitting there and I've also got my head set on changing it to go for a Pan European.

Based in Glasgow

I've also got some extras for sale.....
R6 rear shock.....£150
Black Widow Stainless steel downpipes....£150 (rrp £270?)

For Sale & Wanted / 2003 clocks for sale/swap
« on: 17 July 2016, 07:17:37 am »
I recently purchased these clocks with wiring loom, with the intention of swapping them into my '98 fazer but unfortunately that's not going to work.

So someone might need a set or have a 1999 - 2002 set that wants to swap??
18000+ miles, will get accurate figure ASAP but no more than 19000

Clean, undamaged and all lights working, came from a working bike that was being stripped.

I paid £50 delivered for clocks and loom but open to offers as I just want to get rid and try and get a set that fits mine.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Bleeding rear caliper.
« on: 12 July 2016, 07:10:56 pm »
Right guys I'm seriously in the shit, I acquired a 1000 bluespot caliper and put in onto my 600 but I've tried bleeding it but I've got nowhere, so I'm looking for some urgent help to get it to work, from you guys in the know of these calupers, is there something I'm missing? I thought straight swap and bleed job done but no way would it slow me down nevermind stop me if needed.
Your help would be very much appreciated,

General / Scooter for my daughter.
« on: 13 June 2016, 08:50:51 pm »
My daughter is trying to rob me of more money but it's for two wheels so I can't complain much.

She's just about to do her CBT and is looking at this,

Anybody know anything about them? Can't find much info on them.
She is going to sit her CBT and test on a bike in case she can get a bike in later years. (She has problems with her bones and would struggle to get her leg over a bike all the time atm)

General / Dilemma dilemma :(
« on: 11 June 2016, 03:33:43 pm »
Our shop steward (which he was highly respected and done great things for the workforce) has decided to leave that post and join the dark side of management and worse than that he'll now be our boss!

He has worn many hats in his shop steward role, driver trainer, safety rep etc and these will need to be given up so my dilemma is do I take on these or any of these roles?

I was actually the safety rep for a couple of year's till the shop steward decided he wanted to do it as well as all the other things of which I reckon he didn't do as good a job but that might just be personal :(

Personally I don't want to do the shop steward job and we already have someone lined up for that but I feel I can make a difference on the driver training and the safety side if things.

What would be your thoughts on this?

Would it not be better to have ALL  the 'Fazer' in the same thread?
After all it is a Fazer forum and would be interesting to read in the one thread of what everyone has done with their Fazer instead of having separate ones.
Maybe it's just my thought but maybe worth a look into it?

General / Wee trip down south.
« on: 21 May 2016, 08:21:35 am »
Well as most of you are coming to Scotland for your trips I thought I'd go south!
I'm planning a trip for the first week in August down to the Lake District area, so, can any of you guys recommend a few nice places to visit/stay in that area?

I'm not too keen on the camping malarky so cheapish b&b's would be great preferably in villages and such as I do like to socialise in the evening :)

FZS600 Fazer / Handle bar query.
« on: 20 May 2016, 09:53:55 am »
This has been bugging me since i got the bike......

My handle bars seem to sit a bit squint, just wondering if anyone else's does this or 8f there's a solution.

1st pic is how they sit.
2nd pic is how I think they should sit.

It's notacible as when I try to ride with them straight the bike veers of route, My tyre seems straight as the wear indication is even but I'm compensating as I'm riding.

« on: 02 May 2016, 07:06:02 pm »
Just wondering if anyone's had a problem replacing the rear sprocket nuts/bolts?

I've just recently put on new chain and sprocket set but on looking at them again today I'm thinking I might of sheared 1 of them :(
How easy are they to replace or do I need to get a whole new carrier?

For Sale & Wanted / FORD KA
« on: 28 March 2016, 04:01:10 pm »
Hi my sister is wanting to get rid of her car due to it not being used as intended, she'd bought it with the intentions of doing her driving lessons but due to working crazy hours she's unable to do them.

So here's some of the details......

Ford KA
Around 44,000 miles
54 plate.
Started with a wee help from me but no leaks that I could see and bodywork is in ok condition again as far as I could see but I didn't scrutinise it to be fair.
It's MOT is due

She's not looking for silly money as she's aware of MOT etc, she's happy for offers if it means helping someone get on the road cheaply as a first car / project car.

Car is in Clydebank area of Glasgow and would need either towed or lifted away due to having no MOT but that's at your own discretion.

I've posted a pic and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Oh, really need this done ASAP if at all possible.
