Just remembered I hadn't posted here but on someone else's maintenance thread in the 600 section.
I had five shocks, one unit has been accounted for so four units left.
All shocks were removed from road bikes destined for racing, that had the units changed once the bikes were run in. So use is in hundreds of miles as opposed to thousands.
Fitted with 675lb-inch springs from Demon Tweeks / Faulkners, which should work very well for riders anywhere between 11 to 16 stone optimally if you're around the 13-14 stone mark.
Also included: shorter 127mm steel 8mm thick dogbones (as the R6 shock is slightly shorter thann the FZs unit). These raise the rear very slightly above standard height.
Top-hat spacers and a M10 8.8 high tensile bolt with nut for the frame's top mounting point.
14mm thick Alloy Spring preload spacer to take up slack as the Faulkners springs are half an inch shorter. Preload is adjusted with the standard FZS600 C-spanner in the toolkit.
I'm looking £200 + £13 P&P (providing you aren't in Jersey or the Shetlands) (http://foc-u.co.uk/Smileys/efocicon/smile.gif) Just over half the price of a basic Hagon shock, but the all qualities of a top-end Nitron unit (separate high-speed and low-speed compression adjusters, as well as rebound adjustment).

do I need any extra parts to change the shocks over interested in the price
-
Nothing extra needed to swap shocks over, all of the parts needed are included.
You will need to remove the lower linkage to get the R6 shock into place, otherwise you'll badly scrape the spring when trying to fit it into place. Then again, it will give you a chance to grease up all the linkage bearings which have dried up by now...

Hi can I order one of the shocks you have for sale how do you want paying regards
-
hi kebab19 could you please send me your papal address again sorry about this been in hospital for a few days
-
pm sent :)
-
First four now sold, I have four or five more shocks arriving in the near future
-
If i can save some cash i'll get one in the future as my shock is now over 50k old and rear feels very soft.
-
Another three converted shocks will be ready for action this weekend
-
how far down the list am I? ;)
-
Ok, have somehow managed to get five more shocks. These will be the last ones as I've exhausted all the obvious possibilities regarding getting any more.
Haven't ordered any replacement springs yet, so I can tailor them more specifically to each rider's weight / riding requirements.
So any final interest before I advertise them to the wider audience on ebay? £200 inc p&p

That's a cracking price. I 100% recommend this upgrade. I've not changed any of the default settings other than bumping the preload up a couple of notches. It's a vast improvement over the joke of a stock shock.
Cheers,
Rob

If you have any of the shocks left I would be very interested in one. :)
-
Hi Kebab.
1) Is this a direct replacement or do you need to make the modification around the area of the coolant reservoir ?
2) Are there any left ?
Regards, Lez
-
Hello Les,
1) Its a direct replacement, no mods needed. You just need to remove the bottom shock linkage to allow enough room for the replacement shock to fit into place.
2) Yes :)

Bought myself a nice shock from Kebab, very happy with purchase. Decided that i would fit it asap because my old shock is shot. Got down to the nitty grittty of pulling the old one off and have found that the bearings and spacers in my linkage are shot. Any ideas where I can get a new set. Probably putting this in the wrong section but here's hoping. Cheers :'(

Unlucky. For new Yamaha parts I would normally mail order from Fowlers in Bristol.
However, if they are extortionately priced (and they probably will be) you might consider getting another 2nd hand shock linkage off ebay.
Actually, I think I might have a spare linkage in the garage. If you want I can check it over?

I have managed to get two more suitable R6 shocks, tho supplies appear to be drying up :(
My machinist has now fabricated 7mm thick dogbones for anyone who may be concerned about the width of the original bones.
Anyone who wants a set, send me back your originals and I will forward you a revised set of 'bones 1st class Recorded

Five more of these shocks in, four used with low mileages and one of them is unused - straight off a bike that was immediately destined for racing.
Used shocks £200 + £13 ParcelForce P&P
Unused shock £225 + £13 ParcelForce P&P
All parts needed for conversion to the FZS600 will be included, and all shocks will be re-sprung to your specific requirements, meaning it's a straight swap for your now utterly knackered rear shock :lol

Pm sent re:unused shock
-
Have got some more of these shocks in for conversion.
A bit cheaper this time too:
Used shock will be £175 + £13 Parcelforce P&P
Unused Shocks are £200 + £13 Parcelforce P&P
P.S. Anyone weighing around 14-16 stone looking one of these shocks should PM 'Yamazer-92', as he's selling his at a reduced price.

Any chance you could sell me only the TOP hat spacer?
-
Sorry, sold all the conversion parts I had nearly two years ago and my machinist who made the parts has retired / disappeared :\ Should be someone here who knows someone who can help out...
