iTunes / iPod advice
« on: 24 June 2013, 09:23:17 pm »
I am just about sick to death of fucking itunes.

Is there any way of getting music on my ipod without using itunes?

Does anyone know why itunes refuses to register a folder I have added that contains a load of vinyl to MP3 files as an album? I have created it with the properties listing the album title on each track, a track number etc.

Instead it lists each track as an album which means I have put together a collection which I can't listen to unless I search for each track.

Sussed it sort of, if you make all the artists the same eg various artists then it shows as an album, bit crap that itunes can't do what my Zen Vision M was doing 10 years ago.

I've just loaded some music on my shuffle from iTunes. I just drag n dropped them into the device via my computer icon. They don't show up on the playlists, but they play happily when its on shuffle.

ITunes is a pain in the arse! Its going to be the downfall of apple if they're not careful.
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

I think you set 'Album Artist' to Various Artists, that then groups them together into the same album.  You can then set an individual Artist for each song.

My Mrs has a shuffle and with my large collection of MP3's iTunes always crashes. I now use a winamp plugin and works perfect. in fact she thinks it fits more songs on.. possibly better compression?? dunno but works  :D

I have the same problem with my iPhone.

I get round it by just making up a playlist with those songs in. Then give the playlist the name of the band or artist.

My iTunes library is a pain in the @rse.

It thinks Michael Jackson is an Andy McNab audio book which makes for some interesting family car journeys!

Top tip that one, itunes can go to Silicon Hell.

I can;t see where you can make the album artist Various and there's another artist entry though?
