I use one like this

that fits the yam one. Thread it through from the side between filter and pipes and then push on and push on and use socket wrench through gaps in pipes

To be honest, all I've ever needed for bikes or cars in worst cases has been a Marigold glove.

What laws of physics are involved in that if you do a nut up hand tight it will always come lose and yet an oil filter will always tighten itself up

Done several oil and filter changes using the filters (and oil) from Halfords.....no problems so far.
