I have a good friend who works for BCA... Its pretty much a closed shop as far as the bike auctions go. The big dealers will have got together beforehand and split the good stuff between them and will actively bid amongst themselves to keep smaller dealers and Joe Public out of the running. Whatever's left is mainly bid on by "overseas" buyers who will pay nearly full value anyway. So unless you are prepared to go to retail prices at auction you can pretty much be sure that you will not get a bargain.
