Hi

I'm trying to sell my FZ1 and looked around at average prices and put it up for sale at £3,400. It is a 2007 model with some extras and is in a good clean condition.  So far I've had no interest, is the price too high?  What do people think a fair price would be?  It is in the For Sale section.

Cheers

helo fz boys.as I said few weeks ago I was having probs with my rear shocker being to soft.it was getting me in a real mess in the corners and putting me off riding at a fair pace.i have tried many things to sort it out coz I never had the money fore ohlins  shock.i waited and looked on ebay fore cheaper options but no luck.gave it a break fore week or so then looked again and there was the martris shock stairing at me.in yellow and black with full adjustments that's fore me I thought price was fair.paid fore shock and got it in under a week and fitted it the next day.i could not believe the difference it was a peg down ride within 40 miles and stuck to the road doing what it should do.money well spent its changed the whole bike fore me.sorry if this a bit long winded but just wanted to share with you all.

hey paul thanks for info very handy.i put zx10 spring on because it was so soft when I press it down but not sitting on it.i hoped the spring would help.it did a small bit but not enough for me to ride at a good pace.i have wound rear screw up more today so will try it Saturday.i have set sag front and rear it was the first thing I did.as I said in my post my damper rod don't have much resistance with out spring on.i am thinking it works like a steering damper so the more you turn it up the more resistance you get.i always write down anything I do on forks or shocker.i think by what you have said and others that my shock may be shot.thanks.

I am still bouncing like a pogo stick even though I have now got a zx10 spring fitted.can anybody tell me if I remove spring from shock, how much resistance should there be when pushing damper rod up and down.also if I adjust damper will while no spring off should the resistance increase.thanks peps.

my weight is 14 stone.i have pre load set on 4 notches, comp 10 clicks out from fully in.dont have any more adjusters on shock.bike done 14,000.it feels like the spring is to soft.i have heard people put an r1 shock on but I don't know what year one they use.there probly loads of shocks that will fit it with very little mods needed, but can work out a lot of money to just try them.

helo all.in need of some help regarding my very bouncey rear shock on my 07 fz1.has anybody fitted another shocker or harder spring.i am at the point of selling the bike on as it has given me some very nasty moments.i have been told I am a good smooth fairly fast rider, but I find I cant push my fz at any sort of real pace without getting the bike in a real mess.i love the bike but falling off is not for me.people say slow down then but then why have I got the bike.i live and ride for the corners.help please.

took fz1 out and gave it bit more on the corners than I have been sunday.i found it had me out of the seat couple of times.that made me think rebounding to quickly.also had some very spongy moments or should I call it wollowing.the wollowing made me think spring to soft so up I went with preload it made no difference.i then tried uping the compression still I have the same probs.can it be that I need a harder spring.i weigh a very light 14 stone dry.any ideas anyone.i have seen things about putting r1 or r6 rear shock on.has this worked for anybody. :rolleyes

re my clutch prob.i have sorted it now.the problem was the adjusting nut at the engine end of the cable was on the wrong side of the cable bracket.removed cable from bracket put nut other side slight adjustment and job sorted.never saw another adjuster in line of cable.not an easy job to do with the wires in the way and the little bracket on inside of left of frame.done it at black arts suspension workshop so mick caswells hands got in there with me.bit of info for you if you want suspension set up on your fazer he very helpful.thanks for help fellow fazer boys.

« on: 18 February 2016, 08:45:39 pm »
sorted grabrail.had to take seat strap off and put couple of 5mm spacers on the front 2 bolts to hold rail up from rear fairing.i also put to washers under seat catch on rear seat to lower the catch.job done.so much easier to pull on to padock stand rather than holding rear fairing.feels much safer doing it that way. think I am gonna enjoy my fz1 even more when the summer gets here.

re my clutch.thanks paul had a feeling that my be the prob coz of the low mileage.i did have tank off couple of weeks ago but couldn't get to adjuster.i pulled the wires to the side but not lot of help.i also undone the the 2 bolts that bolt it to case but still unable to get to it.it seems I am going to have to take airfilter off so I can move the wires that run up the side of filter on inside of frame.thanks.
