FZS600 Fazer / Dogbone lengths: fzs600 Jack up/lowering
« on: 28 February 2020, 09:31:33 am »
Looking for the lengths of the various dogbone lengths that alter the ride height for the fzs600.
Have searched this forum but not found anything definitive.
Believe I am correct in saying the standard dogbones are 140mm.
Would like to know the dogbone lengths (C2C) for the +15mm raise 'jack up' Kit , also the +25mm, (which a lot of people seem to go for), also the +40mm, etc.

Be interested to know the lengths for lowering links also, so they are all here and easily searchable.

If you are planning to use a box, get a Givi rack. If its just the occasional light bit then the others are OK
Yes, its just for light stuff,  I did have a big Givi box on my last bike,  useful, but weighed a lot on its own, and made the front end flap about .

as per title, looking for reasonably priced rentec rack for fzs600, ideally with mounting bolts. will consider other types/makes of rack that fit on the grabrail mounts ( i.e. not givi etc )

Introduction / me again
« on: 09 September 2018, 03:43:19 pm »
back to owning a fzs600 after selling my boxeye about 7 years back,  went to sv650s which was somehow a lesser bike than the fazer, then a xv535 , was not up to my riding style, a zx6r, quick but too sportbike focused then an xmax 250, comfy and practical but too slow
Picked up a 2003 foxeye with some useful mods 30,000 very good for its years in my opinion, really enjoying. rides like a missile after the xmax

ohlins rear shock. this will make for a faster, more confident  ride ,on suspension that actually works

Got a secondhand set of aftermarket mirrors for my 99 fzs off the bay recently, don't know the brand, they are alloy castings adjustable for extension and feature cute diamond shape mirrors
though really only the far corner  is useful when sat up. the extension really needs to be a bit more but  they are all round tastier than stock mirrors.  :thumbup

I found my fzs required a 20mm or so spacer on the rear hanger to get the delc can to sit right, < u can see in pic >
otherwise it would clout the tyre on suspension compression.such a thing maybe included with brand new silencer,
 i got mine S/H so wouldn't know.

Recently fitted the delc oval stainless end can.
It looks really nice on the bike, well made, light. fits OK
Sounds about right with the DB killer, without it is a race can, too much really.
i too noticed the burbling on decelleration, more so without the killer.
Recommend :)

i would like to protect the ohlins seals and general appearance
I'm thinking it will likely get all sweaty and grimy inside with one of them and once its there its held in there
figure it would be a PITA to clean the sock also. i have a hugger i will see how it goes
maybe some homemade solution is called for
