Title: Hello from North Yorkshire
Post by: Lex162 on 11 May 2017, 11:06:35 pm
Hi all,

Just bought my a 2001 FZS600 with a different look to it.

Can't wait to get out and ride it.  Few jobs need doing first, it bogs down at about 5,500 revs and clears about 7,000, from looking around it sounds like check airfilter, spark plugs and then carbs.

Tried inserting pictures but it wouldn't work, so heres a link to the pics.

Welcome to the  :faz mad house.

Thats a nice looking beast you've bought youself. As for the issues you've stated, yes you are correct in going through the basics of air filter, Spark plug and carb checking. if the bike had been stood for a long while before you bought it then deposits can build up and cause blockages which can then cause dips in power output. On your next few fuel fillups it might be worth pouring some Fuel and carb/injector cleaner in the tank.

Cheers Fazer99.

I checked the airfilter this morning and it looked pretty good.

Poured some cleaner into the tank aswell, tescos had some on offer :) and boked it in for carbs checking/balancing next week.

Liking it so far, even with the issues
