I hadn’t noticed that fazerscotty has gone for the slip on kit, which has smaller main jets and different needles compared to the full monty kit. The full monty benefits from mods to the air box and carb rubbers, but needs a free flowing exhaust to work properly, whereas the slip on would be a benefit even using a stock silencer, in my opinion.

I've fitted a full Black Widow system already. Going to remove that for cleaning purposes, replace the gaskets etc and to make sure I have NO leaks on the exhaust side of things.
Then the carbs.........
New pin vices arrive today - leaving nothing to chance at the moment.

As you’ve changed the headers, why didn’t you go for the MB kit as opposed to the Slip On, or is that not available any more.

Had a quick look on Ivan’s site and both kits are available for the same price. It might be worth having a read up, unless you’ve already done that, as it would seem the airbox mod is not necessary with the slip on kit, and in fact could be detrimental to performance. Something to do with airbox flow being matched to the needle profiles. I’m sure you’ll do an ace job whatever you decide. :thumbup

Not trying to be a pendant, as a happy owner with a slip on kit modification I’m interested to understand how people get on with the full monty kit. Is it so much better that I should invest?

In real world motorcycling I wouldn’t have thought there was a great deal of difference. The full monty would give a top end rush if you were giving it the berries, and how often that opportunity arises must depend on the quality of local roads. Only a side by side roll on would give you a definitive answer. When Mike was fitting these kits, the difference in price was negligible. The full monty was more time consuming, so therefore more expensive. I’d hazard a guess that more folks went for the full monty, however, you have the option of using a stock silencer if you wish, with little or no detriment to your performance gain.

Especially if you have a beer to celebrate each stage, screw turn, drill revolution. Looks like you’re sorted until Easter. :lol

Yep, the site of the Nightingale cafe. Many a scooter didn’t make it passed there back in the day. Now, on a Sunday, the cafe in the High Street is a haven for scooters.
If you’re stopping over there again and fancy a beer, let me know. :thumbup

Have you started on the Ivanising project yet. Ideal time to be tucked away in the garage out of harms way. Have a good Christmas :thumbup
