Want to sell your modded Gen 1 Fazer?
« on: 22 June 2017, 07:33:53 pm »

Ive decided it will be much cheaper in the long run to sell my cosmetically challenged Gen 1 Fazer 1000 cheap, and buy a better one.

I keep looking at bikes to replace my trusty old girl, but I just keep coming back to the fact that I cant think of a better or more suitable bike for me than a Gen 1 Fazer 1000, I'm not even that keen on a Gen 2, they look a bit too modern for me.

Now I know these come up for sale on here occasionally coz I've seen em, I want a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 with and R6 or quality shock, fully Ivanised with all the air injection gubbins removed with less than 40K miles on it.

I know this may be asking a lot, but the last thing I need is to go away on holiday next week only to return and find one has been put up for sale and sold.

So, if you are thinking of selling your modded Fazer 1000 (even if its going to be in a week/month/few months time) please get in touch with me before you throw it on ebay etc.

I now invite everyone to take the p*ss out of my request.

Off you go!

When Mike Ivanised mine he said "if it isn't the best Fazer I've seen it's definitely in the top 3." Needless to say I was chuffed!
is it clean enough?

As you say Bludclot, too nice to enjoy in the rain. A little too nice for me.

I have been toying with the idea of selling mine.................
2002 with just over 30k, 1 previous owner, I’ve owned the bike over 2 years, 2 original Keys with key code fob. I bought the bike completely standard and all of the work has been done by myself. I have lots of photos from when I purchase the bike to the stage in which it is at now.
The bike has been on the dyno and is now just over 139bhp and top speed of 169mph with the fuel to air ratio near on perfect with a nice big sexy curve!!!

The list of mods are long;
Full Monty Ivans kit fitted by the man who can with airbox mod and new ported rubbers (were new when done a year ago so no cracks)
BMC air filter
AIS block off kit - not yet fitted
Harris 60mm short(ish) Race can (howls when you’re giving it the beans!)
2003 Black R1 forks
2006+ FZ1 top and bottom yokes highly polished
2003 R1 Gold spot front Calipers, Alloy pistons so won’t rust and seize
R1 Carbon Fibre mudguard, slight damage from the dreaded disk lock (grrrrrrrrrrrr)
Carbon Fibre infills either side of the clocks (practically brand new)
R6 Rear shock supplied by Luke covered with a shock sock so still as clean sa the day it arrived
Hel Carbon effect braided lines all round, 2 line front
2013 xjr1300 Silver spot rear sprocket, again alloy pistons, powder coated black caliper bracket, polished torque arm.
Brand new OEM clutch plates and pressure plates fitted 4k miles ago
Freshly Powder Coated gold wheels with new bearings front and back including sprocket carrier
Powder coated nose brackets, tank bracket, centre & side stand
Grizzley Seat, extra comfortable with none slip grip worked into it
Very recent PR4 rear tyre front has covered 4kish
MRA adjustable screen with stainless bolts
Original OEM Belly Pan
Original OEM Crash protectors
Rear Hugger
Stainless polished Swing arm bolt caps
R1 Gear Selector for shorter shifts
Clear Indicators
Carbon Fibre clock and tank lock covers
Short silver alloy levers
Stainless Beowulf Radiator and side covers
Stainless Caliper bolts
Stainless rear axle bolt
Stainless front axle bolt
Stainless Sprocket bolts
Stainless Clamp bolts
Stainless bolts all around except for the disc bolts
Super Sprox gold Tri metal sprockets

The bike gets fresh oil and filter every 3k miles done by myself so no official service history. I do have about 20ltrs of high end oil that can go with the bike.

I do have a hydraulic clutch set up which I have not yet had chance to fit but would let it go with the bike if I got my asking price. 2013 FJR1300 master cylinder, expensive slave cylinder and a custom length carbon effect Hel line to match the brakes.
I also have a set of 2003 R1 EBC Pro-lite gold wavey discs which I didn’t get on with as they were a little too noisy for my liking.

Probably missed a few bits but you get the idea………………….. PM me if this ticks your boxes and we can talk (I really am only thinking of selling so please don't get your hopes up too much as if I don't get the price I'm thinking id rather keep it)

RMT1983, you'd be a fool to sell it.
I modified my last Fazer and then sold it to try out something different, within weeks I knew I'd done the wrong thing.
Several years and several bikes later I bought my current Fazer that I've thrown a fair few quid at it to get it how I like it and can honestly say I'll never get rid, (unless really silly money was offered) even when I'm to old to ride it I think I'll keep it just to admire and polish.  :D
