No Claims Bonus?
«
on:

Spoke to my in today turns out they have onely sold me 6 months ins not 12 months no happy .
I was happy at £260.00 full comp .
but it turns out that was just for 6 month on an transfer from the old pol .
so I asked how much is it for 12 month they said it would be £750.00
I have 3 years no claims when I had the cg125 on a
provisional license.
but they said now that I have past my full bike test and have a full license that its like starting out like a new bike rider and them 3 years no claims are worth bugger all
they said I am more at risk on a 600 bike with a full license than my 125 bike
on a
provisional license

Sounds like its time to get a new insurance company.
If you can get a 'proof of NCB' off them then you can go anywhere (try any price comparrison site that deals with bikes) - or try Bennets or Direct-choice or Hastings.
4WiW ... If they ask for proof of NCB and you repeatedly fail to provide it then they will eventually ask you to sign a document promising that you haven't claimed for N years.

Maybe no hastings, as per the thread a few below your own?
http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,1179.0.html
And Bennet's? Hmmm, no mods allowed or the insurance is invalid...
When I passed my test and went to a CBR600 and the insurance was only £123, fully comp. Maybe my area is good, my age, 4 years no claims, driving 13 years never crashed, locked in a garage...helped. But £750 for a bike, foc off. Unless it is some special or something, I agree with The Major, shop around.

Don't know how old you are but maybe cheaper elsewhere even without ncb ?
As said above get yourself on the price compare websites and I personally wouldn't discount Hastings over one issue.
I imagine if you googled hard enough you'd find dirt on any company.

Why are you insuring it Fully Comp?? Its only worth about £1500 max and you can get another less shiny one for about £1K.
I would insure it TPFT and then simply avoid wrapping it round a tree.
If you do trash it, either fix it cheaply or raid your piggy bank (and your 'saved' insurance money) and buy a cheap one.
You'll be quids-in in a few years.

we found when insureing my daughter that the diff between 3rd party and tpff and fc was actualy either very small or in fact in the case of 3rd party only it was more expensive than both tpff and fc lol.
in some cases on a few bikes (we checked a few while she was looking for a bike) tpff was cheaper than fc, it made no sense at all.
we do have the advantage of being in a fairly good postcode for insurance so that helps a lot i think.

I had mine insured tpft initially but when I renewed it after one year, I upped the cover to fully comp. Although that was mainly because it was £4 a year cheaper......

the cheapest fc i could get was over 1200 so i went tpff which was 570 which i was happy with because the next lowest tpff was just under 800

New insurance company methinks.
I'm with h&r, my ncb carried over from prov to full licence. Having said that, I have coming up on 6 years worth and I'm still the wrong side of 250 tpft for a mk1 fzs 6. I got a quote from mce for a 07 speed triple 1050. Fully comp was about 235 or summat. I know i'm getting bumped but h&r are always a pleasure to deal with and I think thats why I've stayed.
When I get the gixxer on the road, they quoted me over 400 for a 2bike policy, cancelling my current. I reckon I could get cheaper on comparison sites but even then, 2 fast, nimble and agile bikes in good nick for 400 ain't too bad a deal either.
Your ncb should be valid. They are talking shit. Threaten to take the business elsewhere and see them change their tune

NCB should be valid across L plate and restricted and full license unless of course there has been a couple of years break between insuring .One answer said threaten to take your buisness elsewhere but that means nothing to the robbin barstewards. Phone the insurance ombudsman advice with some major clout they can really penalise a company that is taking the pish
