I keep reading about how poor the handling is on the gen 1, I must have a good one, I can't fault it, even the rear end is OK when solo....and I'm def over 13st

I can't stand huggers so I've took mine off and bought what I thought was a std item for my gen 1 thou, trouble is it does not fit very well which makes me suspect it's not for my bike at all. Have any of you guys got any pic's of the STD item ?
cheers guys

I'd give your brakes a service if I were you, my blue spots are brilliant, can't see why anybody would want more

Never been keen on the gold wheels even though your bike does look nice, always had a thing for white though

The reg is on the ad but dvla only tell that its mot'd and taxed and the year it was put on the road. I don't want to buy it! I just thought it was a strange ad that looked hard to believe
If I recall you only need the reg number and make to do an HPI check ? I'm pretty sure the DVLA have nothing to do with a HPI check

Yeah the reg is in the advert, sure its had a few owner vs the miles but I'm pretty sure that a lot of bikes are out there these days and do no more than a thousand miles a year, I bet more than half the bikes in the UK are just toys these days. I don't even know what I've done this year......maybe 1500 tops . Some of the eight owners might have done more than the next guy, if it really bothers you that much just leave it and go to a dealer. I know quite a few folk won't go near ebay...nowt wrong with that if you can afford to pay dealer prices for that piece of mind so to speak

You'd never buy a bike with more than 4 owners ? to be fair to the seller boys I think your being a bit paranoid, if your an interested buyer do an HPI and check it out yourself. If I were in the market for one I'd certainly be interested in this bike

Just recently got rid of a BMW 1100R on a 97 plate that had done 37000 and that was a good bike but it had been used in the winter and the rot had got under the engine paint making it look rough. Lets face it no bike will thank you for running it through the winter months

I bought a Honda Big One a few years ago, it had 73000 on the clock, the paint work had just been done and it looked great but after owning it a few months you knew it had done a big mileage, electrics started to play up, wheel bearings had to be replaced and it just felt tired out. Surprised me because I thought the old Honda would have been good for massive miles, I guess it had a hard life previous to me buying it but it has put me off buying anything over 40 thou miles. Don't forget an old bike bike can do too little miles as well which can be just as bad........I guess it's luck of the draw

Got a Nikon D300 and a bunch of len's, cheap DSLR's these days and more than capable, you don't need loads of Mega pixels to take great pics (Images as the boys like to call them lol) invest some time in a local collage course, I did 2 hrs a night a my local collage and it was free to boot. Books and DVD's are great but I found it was always better when you could actually talk to someone and they could in turn show you how to do things. Light room is advanced, Elements is good enough for post processing........trouble is like most hobby's you will get people who will tell you you MUST have the most expensive kit out the to do any good but truth is a camera is only as good as the guy who's taking the photos....good luck it's a great hobby

Anybody ever fitted mirrors with the turn indicators in the back of the mirror? I think certain GSXR's have them fitted

Must admit I wished I'd have tried the 6 before I bought my thou, EXUP Valve issues and some early vibes on mine before I got the rear exhaust mounting bracket welded back up, It's still a buzzy beast now.

35 years, had too many bikes to mention nearly all of them I wished I'd have kept if ever I win the lotto I'd buy them all back, Gen 1 thou for now but I have a habit of getting bored and it'll get shifted on for god knows what next

The Kit option from Devils yam is not far off the price of a brand new Hagon shock if memory serves (inc new dog bones), I'm still on the fence what to do with my gen1 this winter, the other option is to source your own R6 shock and get some dog bones made up, certainly a cheaper option. Lets be honest you can have all the knobs and dials you like on your shock but how often do you tweak them?? once set my guess is they never get touched. I guess both R6 and Hagon are great shocks, just down to personal preference really, good luck and enjoy

Mines not been Ivansied to be fair it isn't too bad now I've had it a while, even the shock isn't too bad when solo, I do notice a bit when two up but if I were riding it solo all the time I don't think I'd be bothering spending hundreds on the famous rear shock conversion....... I think you can get too fussy with things sometimes, just ride it and enjoy.......if we all bought bikes on how they hold there value we'd all have old Z900's

On a slightly different note, I wonder why nearly everybody always changes the end can? you'd think that Yamaha would it licked when it came to power with the OEM item

Nice job pal, plan to fit a shock to mine in the winter. Are these shocks better than them R6 efforts ? (I guess without the fuckin around with the wishbones etc)

I was gonna say I would have thought the paste stuff would just stop the chain from going rusty and do nothing to actually lubricate it properly??
