Title: FZ1s dimensions
Post by: wibblywobbly on 27 September 2012, 03:58:32 pm
Hi all

I look likely to return to the fold over the weekend. I used to have a Fazer1000, Ivanised by the one and only, sold it about 3 years ago and bought a 1050 Tiger...great touring bike, but not 'me'. Went to live in France for a year, left it parked in the lounge most of the time, and when I came back last year I sold it.

Now looking to pick up an FZ1s at the weekend, however, I am hoping to get it in the back of my T4 campervan. Snag is that the free floorspace is only 28" wide, and this bike has the fairing panels on. So does anyone have an FZ1S with fairing panels who can tell me the widest point of the bike. The specs say 30", but I don't know if this is across the tips of the pegs.

I really am trying to avoid riding it back as the weather forecast is grim and its a long, long way!

Cheers

Rob G

Many thanks, If it is close to 28", I reckon that taking the fairing panels off and removing the footpegs will get the bike in there.

Yes 27" to 28" across the pegs, (which could be folded)

24" across the engine crash bungs,

30" or more across the handlebars, thats the widest part, so get checking.

Thanks bud, I reckon it will fit, but only just. Hopefully the tie downs will do their job.

Cheers
