Newbie from the Shetland Islands
« on: 17 June 2013, 03:33:11 pm »
Hi Folks. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your owners club. I have a 2003 FZS 600 Fazer which I  have owned for a couple of years. Love it. Would probably only swap it for it's bigger sister. But as is usual, Forums are found when owners have problems. I am unfortunately one that falls into that category. Hope to contribute in some small way with an exchange of info. Off to the FZS 600 Forum with my tale of woe which seems quite common. Cheers John.

Hey, welcome to the forum John.

I'm also in Shetland! Were you at the simmer dim rally this weekend? Very nice looking Fazer!

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Welcome John

Do not let the slower colours get you down as they are all wrong as you have the fastest colour  :b :b :b

Love the belly pan, did it come with the bike or did you purchase separately ?

That's a shame mate, was an insane weekend as usual. Where abouts do you work?

I work in Lerwick but live in whiteness.

Hi Daz. Thanks for the welcome. The belly pan came with it. I fitted the Beowolf which sounds sweet even with the baffle in. Daren't run with it out as I start at 06:15 in the morning.

I work for Bristow at Scatsta. I don't know if I could handle the Rally to be honest. I would need a week off after it.
Have you looked at my issues in the FZS 600 Forum. Are there any bike wizards on the Islands.

Ah right. The rally is wild but certainly takes a few days to recover. I'm on holiday till thursday night so can't complain.

I have indeed looked at your stuttering fazer thread. There are a couple of people that are great mechanics but to be honest the info on this site is the best info specific to the model you have. Some of the guys on here can strip and rebuild a fazer blindfolded so I'm sure they'll help you find the problem.  ;)

If I had to stick my bike to a garage then I'd take it to tingwall garage. Having said that the Burra Motor Repairs (BMR) have just got new owners and they're supposed to be the go to guys for bikes, just have to wait and see what kind of work the new owners come out with, the last owners didn't have a good rep.

Only the young and hardy ride a bike in the winter here. Or the poor sods who have no option. I'm getting to old to ride in all weathers.

I'm glad you didn't say Sunny Shetland Island Club. It's been pissing down and really misty lately. But when the Sun is Shining the roads and the scenery are some of the best in the country for biking.
