General / Anyone got a Oxford X2 tank bag? (or a small tank bag)
« on: 08 December 2012, 05:20:38 pm »
Hi guys, planning a trip to Germany next year on the trusty thou. I have just fitted a top box or my clothes etc. but i wanted a small bag up front for passport, wallet and tunnel tickets saving me the hassle of going through jacket pockets.. The Oxford X2 looks as though it would fit the bill but wanted to get peoples thoughts and ideas before spending £40 on a bag..

budget is up to £5

he is one of these people who thinks hes a "proper" biker but his triple has done a massive 450 miles this year....  :lol

General / Drift action camera cheap copy. anyone got one?
« on: 15 September 2012, 08:38:50 am »
Hi all, i have been looking into buying an action camera for the bike and other activities. I would like a Drift but they are lots of money. i then spotted this blatant copy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120-HD-Mini-Helmet-Sport-DVR-Action-Video-Cam-Recorder-Waterproof-Camera-/271025353834?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item3f1a5eb46a

Has anyone got one? because for that money it really does look too good to e true.
Or if there are any suggestions as what camera to go for? i would like 1080p but given the cost it is looking more like a 720p cam.

cheers

« on: 08 September 2012, 09:24:20 am »
Hi all, a friend of mine does some work for BikeTrac, they are part of the road angel group.
They have a competition to win SBK tix to  Magny-Cours and a tracker..

all you need to do is like the page ad then you can enter the comp..
http://www.facebook.com/BikeTrac

The trackers are very impressive. when we went to Ireland his kids could track where we had been on the internet.
Oh and hey are used for security too  :lol

If you do win i would like some kind of kick back please.. a pint will do haha..
Good Luck...

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Gen 1 Pre-load settings
« on: 30 August 2012, 09:26:00 pm »
Hi all, as i often get flashed by car drivers i decided maybe i should get my preload setup correctly. does anyone know if each increment of adjustment has a weight guide at all? i am 6'3 and about 17 stone fully kitted up. it is adjusted 2 from top but i still get flashed. (in truth it does light road signs up) is it worth me going the extra 2 notches or should i get another spring? spotted a hyperpro for about £85 so thought that might be worth the investment.

cheers for your thoughts..

I have a Scorpion stubby exhaust for sale. it has Titanium embossed on it.
It was on my Gen 1 thou when i got it but it wasn't me.. It has "Race use only" stamped on it so not sure if it would have gone through an MOT (could polish out?) Condition is OK a good clean would bring it right up.

It is more of a universal type so would fit most things with the correct link pipe.
(I also have a FZS600 link pipe for sale if anyone is interested. £10)

Looking for roughly £40 to cover the cost of the new exhaust I got to replace it.
I live in Milton Keynes and would rather it was picked up but could post if needed.

Thanks, Rob

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Oil change tip
« on: 05 July 2012, 01:45:10 pm »
Hi all, not really a tip tbh but a nice quality cheap tool to get the filter off.
Looking to do an oil change and noticed the Honda filter was about the same size.

took a chance and ordered this from the bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180914523866?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
and it fits perfectly  :D

other ones i have seen are £8 so at that price thought it was worth a gamble.

General / Summer riding kit.
« on: 24 May 2012, 09:54:17 pm »
Hi all, having passed my test in February this year I purchased all winter style clothing. with it getting warmer I would like something a little less heavy.
Currently I have a Richa Torrent jacket. I have taken the lining out but my arms stick to the waterproof lining when its hot... not nice.

I am a big-ish chap so not sure sporty jackets are suitable. i doubt the general public want to see my arse crack lol.
Saying that i do like the look of the Richa Pinto Jacket. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RICHA-PINTO-MENS-SPORT-SHORTS-MOTORBIKE-MOTORCYCLE-CRUISER-JACKET-GHOSTBIKES-/400290816044?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Clothing&var=&hash=item9c00f4d3bc#ht_3069wt_1199
With any luck that jacket would zip into my trousers.

any one got any thoughts on this?
Cheers and happy summer biking  :D

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / RPM clock doing weird things
« on: 15 May 2012, 10:37:52 am »
Hi all, I have had an epic 4 days in Ireland covering over 1200 miles.. my 51 plate fazer has been spot on and not missed a beat.
however... leaving the ferry i noticed my RPM guage doing odd things while ticking over.

flicks to 0rpm then to 7000rpm and then back to 0 again. it keeps doing this till i ride off and then the guage sits at normal RPM's while riding.
It done this pretty much all the way home from what i could see.

any suggestions to what this could be?

thanks,

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Alarm wiring loom
« on: 29 April 2012, 10:11:13 am »
Hi, i am planning to wire up the power for my satnav and luckily there is a ignition switch wire under the seat for the alarm circuit. my question is does anyone know how much load would be safe to put across it?

The satnav is only 1 amp max but the last thing i want to do is burn something out.
my other plan was to just be on the safe side and fit a relay.

I also plan to fit an alarm shortly so i guess that would be extra load on it.

General / What tail pack?
« on: 28 April 2012, 10:01:25 am »
Hi all, I am doing a tour of ireland in a few weeks with a mate.
I m looking for a tail pack to accompany my Knox backpack but cant decide what one..

at the moment i am torn between an Oxford X40 or X30 or even the kriega us30 combo.
I like the quick release ability of all 3 packs and that is what draws me the most as i may need to take it off possibly multiple times in a day.

I am swaying more towards the Kriega at the present time..

Your thoughts?

Hi all, i have recently purchased a FZS1000 as a step up from my 600.
My initial thought was to keep it but the Mrs says no so it must go.

Bike Make : Yamaha
Bike Model : FZS600
Year : 2003

Price : £2100 ono

MOT:  28Th Oct 2012
TAX:   31st Jan 2013
Mileage : 18134 (may go up slightly)

Colour : Blue
Extras :  Meta M357T alarm/immobiliser, Hyperpro fork and shock spring upgrade (best mod i ever did but will supply originals if wanted), Chrome Crash bars, body colour rear hugger, light smoked screen (will include original blue one with sale if wanted), pipercross air filter.

Overall Bike Condition : condition of the bike is fairly good. a few scratches to bodywork but expected with the age of the bike i guess. mechanically very sound. normally starts without any choke and runs sweet.

Tyre/Chain/Sprocket Condition : Tyres replaced 300 miles ago to a set of Bridgestone BT023's, Chain and sprocket plenty of life left.
Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work : service stamps until 2007/14000 miles but receipts to show has been serviced. Has been sat in a local dealer for over 18 months and then in someones garage for about a year before that i believe.   serviced 400 miles ago with quality oil and oil filter. iridium plugs and did a Carb balance while i was there.

Bike Location : Milton Keynes
Any Other Relevant Info :  All in all a nice bike, it will be a shame to see her go but i cannot justify (to the Mrs) keeping both bikes. The bike is currently insured so would be willing to deliver if not too far given i have to get home again  :lol

Contact details: Tel 07710 468 689 or email me r0b3rt@hotmail.com

I will get some pictures up shortly and add them to the thread.
Thanks for looking

anyway its a Suzuki GS125 in red. reg no. X929 EGS and was being stored in the father in laws shed.
He lives in Furzton if you know MK..

It is the other half's bike and she is rather upset as it was of the road and not insured. so a total loss...

it would also seem there have been a few thefts of late so lock your bikes up people..

FZS600 Fazer / Possible new clutch?
« on: 02 April 2012, 01:31:47 pm »
Hi all, had a nice ride out yesterday but noticed my bite point was near enough at the end of travel when letting it out. i adjusted on the engine side and then the cable but hasn't helped much.
I did notice the plain plates are rather close but unsure what the gap should be.

also when you depress the clutch lever (with engine off) and look through the oil fill hole the 1st set of plain plates and friction plates separate from the others.. is this correct? any other foccers able to check theres and let me know if theirs does the same?

the clutch does not feel as though it slips but i am worried because i am doing a tour of Ireland in May so i want it right before i go.

Many thanks,
