Whats the thoughts on those alarm disc locks?
Never been keen as I've thought a big wedge of chewing gum could possibly quieten them down easily, but are they worth getting?

Thats quite a change in inlet size, will definitely check mine out soon as I need to strip her down a bit to wire in some accessory points and give the TB's a balance while I'm at it

Sounds like a TPS issue, bit not 100%.
Would probably be my first check if no one has an alternative option.
Can you fit an OBD cable and check the TPS.
I've done it before with a bluetooth dongle and Torque app on the phone, but too new to the Faz to know if this works.

yes.most of us have altered the airbox on our gen11s, but what bike is he asking info for?
Will have to check if mines been done - does it actually make a difference? I presume its a similar mod that was on TDMs to prevent a flap restricting the air box below certain revs?

That would be really generous of you, let me know if you manage to sort one and we can sort postage costs etc out (and a bit extra for a drink at least ) Cheers, Rob.

Bit worrying it says it needs a water proof pouch.
Not really ideal for use on a bike if its not properly weather sealed.

It stands for penalty charge notice and I have just seen the photos and as kosmic said I have driven through the wider centre bit, no bollards or arrow but a sign that I can't make out from the pictures .
If there was no bollard or blue sign with the arrow to indicate which side to go you have a case to argue it. If the companies already paid it though its a pain.

I got a pcn off Haringey council years ago for riding in a bus lane. Took them to PATAS claiming their signage was insufficient and won. Great feeling that was Call council direct to prove its not a scam and get the photo / video evidence (they can't withold it) and check all the signage and whether there was a reason for doing it.

Makes you wonder what happened to kill the car driver and remove the riders head?! Think I will be taking it slow if I get out tomorrow..
Possibly if they t-boned the bike and the bike comes through the drivers door. If it was on a fast road the bike would have enough momentum to cut right through. Rider then hits the roof lip etc. Nasty

I thought that the word Nigger came from the dark skinned natives of the Niger delta, Hence the country Nigeria. So surely its a term used to describe a people from a certain area?
The term was used as a derogatory name that whites called the black slaves, and its this link that is the controversial bit.

however, the other driver is the cause of the accident
Disagree, it sounds pedantic, but the accident is between the bus and car behind, caused by failure to drive at a safe distance to brake in time. The idiot guy is the cause of the emergency stop and subsequently the accident, but not the accident itself.

However, I wonder what case you could make against him as the cause of the accident.
This sounds harsh, but the cause of this specific incident was the woman behind driving too close to be able to stop for an emergency, which is what happened. Although this guy was a nob, the woman should have been keeping a safe distance. Basically you have a reason for the emergency braking, she has no reason for not stopping in time.

Thats the only problem, I have an almax for securing to ground anchor at home but too heavy to take with me. Im afraid it's down to luck when out and about, but I rarely leave it anywhere, and the works site is fenced off with security entrance, so hopefully ok when at work.

Since you have yiss and datatag, you only really need a basic alarm that senses vibration etc.
A guy in the uk makes and sells some on ebay fot about 20-30 quid that I've used on a tdm before and did the job nicely.
Look for NCS motorcycle alarms on ebay and they have a range but the V2 is probably good for your needs.

What about policies that affect bikers such as compulsory hi-viz jackets - bike or politics

Theres a few vids on YouTube of people doing the whole Freeman thing to the police. Its an interesting concept but in reality they end up being held up about half an hour being questioned then dragged off to the cells. They are most likely released without any charges, but who wants to be held the best part of a day, when a courteous few responses to the cops will probably get you on your way in no time.
Imagine being a traffic cop and having scraped someone off the road then have to deal with some smug guy driving badly and telling you he's a freeman and won't answer your questions. I'd make sure he was inconvenienced as long as possible.

I am amazed at this ! to me its clear cut 100% their fault
Just playing devil's advocaat, but there's probably a car forum somewhere saying its 100% the bikes fault for riding into them. The problem is its your word against there's, and taking this to court would require some evidence to sway in your favour. Without any it comes down to who can afford the better legal team unfortunately. Don't wish to sound negative, just be realistic in how the incident is viewed by those who weren't there. This is a good example of why I now always ride with a helmet camera on. Might look a tad daft but any incidents like this and you have your proof. Hope it goes ok for you though.

Riders will often cit eracers don't need abs etc...but hey when have you ever seen oncoming traffic in moto gp ! ..or junctions.
Agree, the racers thing annoys me, as pro racers do on occasion still lock up and even lose it, they're on the edge of performance at the end of the day. But when a racer bins it he gets up and dusts off or hopefully at worst suffers a broken bone. We risk going under a lorry etc and then its game over, with possibly no second chances, so personally id always choose abs if given the option.

If that is the case you should be washing and reapplying every 12 hours, because within 24 hrs it was very rusty.
Spraying mild steel with salt water will obviously result in that. If you ride your bike through brine regularly in summer I hope you do use ACF50 As I say you can't beat it for winter use, but fs365 is an ok temporary coating between washes when you're summer riding and want to keep the bike looking smart.

FS365 is really shit, there was a thread on here with a link to a website where a bloke conducted a test and only acf50 worked.
I know the test you mean and it misses the point completely. FS365 is a quick spray on coating meant to be a very short term treatment. The idea us you wasg the crap off your bike and coat in 365, repeat. Its not marketed as an ACF50 style long term treatment, but a constant repeat application approach. That test doesn't take into account the repeated cleaning and applying cycles, so is a very unfair test.

Regarding the relay issue I wouldn't say its necessary on the usual horns, only the nautilus style. I had a Magnum on a tdm9 and had tested it across the battery (made me jump a mile , and it was just as loud when i put it on the standard horn wiring. Using a relay does stop you frying your switch though if you tend to lean on it a long time, so its definitely worth doing just in case.
