Hey Drezza,
Good ones are becoming rarer, I have seen some shit ones about for sale, and a lot have been chopped and turned into naked bikes cos of quite heavy front end damage after prangs (this does not apply to all Naked Fazers though)
Slightly bent forks may not show up on viewing but will rear their ugly head in handling, the same applies to the frame damage especially up by the steering head.

These things may also become  a problem when it comes to MOT time, so buying a bike with a brand new MOT gives a little more assurance.

A lot of guys that have mint carbed Fazers are hanging onto them as they are becoming more and more desirable (Little bit of retro) and allegedly more grunt than it's injected counterpart.
In my opinion the carbed FZS 600's look sooooooo much nicer than the injected FZ6's, also I think that a clean and tidy  FZS 600 is a good investment
(FZ6 owners the term IMO was used) :2guns :look <<<<<<< tommy

Good luck with looking, there are some nice bikes out there that come up from time to time, keep us posted with you findings and outcome.
Cheers.

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for the welcome  :)

I think the inflation in price is mainly due to the new licencing laws, and there seems to be a loophole whereby those with restricted (A2) licences (like myself) can ride them, whereas before there wouldn't have been such a niche market.

I'm not too bothered about cosmetics to be honest, just mechanical issues like loose front sprocket nut which I will be wary of.

I will definitely keep you updated though!

Have you checked out the for sale section here, otherwise have you tried places like auto trader bikes ( http://www.autotrader.co.uk/bikes ) or even evilbay can sometimes be a little gold mine, a mate of mine bought a cracking classic mint condition RD350 for a nice low price.
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 😭🏍😭

Yeah been scouring eBay, Gumtree and here, everything seems to be down south or in bloody Wales though, I'm not really in a rush though so that's a bonus!
